say Yes, please!
I pump every single morning, 7 days a week, on the side the baby does not nurse on. If I'm with her the rest of the day, I do not need to pump again.
We're going on a quick family overnight. The last thing I want to do is pack the pump and parts and deal with keeping the milk all day as we will be checking out of the hotel, heading to a family's house for b-fast and then off to the aquarium and then a 4+ hour drive home.
Is it OK to skip the morning pump on the one morning we are gone? My supply is just OK -I took a hit since my period returned, and I usually make just enough to send daycare bottles so long as I pump over the weekends too. I do have a small freezer stash that I can use on Monday if I am short.
Re: it's OK to skip a pump, right?
i think i can likely get the baby to nurse again on that side in a hour or so - afetr she eats something. she's a go with the flow sort of baby - 9.5mos old.
thanks!
I only pump once a day (in the morning) and I've had to skip it a few times. It's definitely uncomfortable, but do-able.
If I have to skip it again, I'll probably try to hand express a little or bring my manual single pump just to take the edge off.
But yeah, not the end of the world. Never noticed a dip in supply when I did this. But like I said, it was just a few random times, and never two mornings in a row (or even two mornings in one week, for that matter)
