what all do you have left to do?

What is on your to do list before your LO arrives? I feel like I have a lot to do but I just never DO it! I need to make a list so I can start crossing things off it. I was hoping some of your lists would help get me started.

Oh....pretty much everything. We haven't even started setting up the baby's room yet. We still have to finish painting the room, as of right now, it is an area for us to collect baby stuff. So we have A LOT to do...we are hoping to start on Labor Day weekend because we have plans every other weekend until the end of September. I think we could be cutting it a little close, thank goodness the baby is due at the end of October.

I have a bunch of paperwork and things for E for school and soccer, putting together baby furniture and all the swings/bouncy seat, etc. I have to go through all of E's baby stuff and send over extras to the grandparents, nothing has been washed or unboxed and sterilized. So pretty much everything lol.

We need to pick a name! I've got a shower this weekend and next weekend and then one from work and after all that I need to see what items we are still missing and go buy them all.

For the nursery, get the crib and bedding. After that, we are finished with DS's room. We are in the process of applying for health insurance for him. We need to install the car seat base in the car...this is our first baby so we have no clue what we're doing :-). Last but not least, we need to pack our hospital bag. I haven't decided when to do this yet. My due date is October 3 but I have a gut feeling he's going to come early (wishful thinking maybe) but just in case, we might pack a bag in 2 weeks when I'm 35 weeks.

We are waiting on our showers to get clothes and fluff his nursery (which is done otherwise). Then completing the stuff off our registry that we still need.

A few crafty things that dont have to be done anytime soon

Pick a pediatrician.

A few smaller organizational things around the house

Get a few baby items, like a swing, bouncer, etc. hopefully I can find some good deals at our citywide garage sale this weekend.

Go to breastfeeding class and figure out which breast pump and supplies I will need and buy them.

Go to cloth diapering class and figure out which ones to buy. There are just so many options that I am overwhelmed!

Who knows what else, but I am sure there will be something!

~ Hang pictures in LO's room

~ Hang shelves in LO's room

~ Buy rug, side table, lamp for LO's room

~ Install car seat

~ Pick out & buy glider for LO's room

~ Sterilize pacifiers

~ Pack birth center bag

~ Find a pediatrician (need to get on that one!)

~ Buy leftovers from registry

~ Make freezer meals

I always feel like I have everything pretty much ready, but then I look at the list and get totally overwhelmed with how much is left to do!

Our last shower is this weekend so I'm waiting to get my list together until after that but the basics are

- buying the mattress

- hanging decorations on nursery walls

- washing everything in Dreft/Free & Clear

- installing the car seat

- organizing the kitchen cabinets to fit her dishes

- pack the hospital bag

- I'm iffy on freezing meals. We're going to have family and friends helping out the first three weeks (so lucky). So if I do this, I'm going to wait until the end so that it doesn't get freezer burn before it is time to eat everything.

We need to hang the wall art in the nursery and find an area rug and new knobs for the dresser. That finishes the nursery. Then I have to buy the rest of the clothes we need, clean all his clothes, set up his crib with linens, organize his clothes, clean the car seat (DD is still using it), swing and bouncy chair, get a double stroller, make/freeze meals for DH and I, make/freeze meals for DD and write out her schedule for her so my mom can watch her and keep her on track. My main concern is making sure my DD is ok and when DH and I are gone she will be on schedule still and have everything she needs!

I have to straighten up his room a little (we have all the stuff, just need to tweek some organizing). We have to set up the pack n'play (bassinet will be his first bed at home) and I have to wash things like the carseat, toys, etc. Other than that, just evicting the boy. We're pretty much ready for him.

Here's my to do list, and I plan to have it all done by the end of August since DH will be starting work again in September (we're both supply teachers)

-carseat installation (clinic is on the 27th, so we'll do it then)

-sort out about cord blood donation (calling for info today)

-thank you cards from shower

-pick a mattress

-buy mattress, pad and sheets (anything else left over on our registry is probably waiting till after baby comes since we've got all the essentials)

-hospital tour (tomorrow night)

-wash baby clothes, sheets, towels and diapers

-pack hospital bag

-write out birth plan (I've got it sorted out in my head, just need to put it on paper)

-find out about life and health insurance options (DH has life insurance, I don't)

-make a will

-sort out maternity leave (need to give 4 weeks notice)

-buy nursing bra, tank and pjs

Well we have put the crib together and hung curtains in the baby's room but that's it. I have a shower this weekend and another the first weekend in September so I'm hoping we'll be more set up after that. We probably won't pack a bag until mid-September. I did see someone mention on here about freezing meals and that is an awesome idea so I'll probably do that too!
