Anyody find any really great halloween costumes? I'm not creative enough to make a costume, but I am looking for something special. Have not had much success as my internet at work is very limited - the only sites not blocked are the bump and amazon.
Tell me what you have planned.
Re: Halloween Costume Ideas
No idea. I'm going to try to convince my Aunt to make him one. She used to make mine, my siblings, and my cousins' when we were little.
BTW, OP, time to change your siggy!! I thought mine was old
You motivated me. I did it. :-)
I was just thinking about Halloween costumes this weekend- DH thought I was crazy! I didn't want to buy a costume, because most of the cuter ones are just way too expensive for me (like $40 plus). I can't spend that much because honestly, he's not going to remember it at all, we're not really taking him trick or treating, probably to just a select few friends houses, and that just seems like too much for a one time deal. But, that being said, I am not super creative/crafty either. I can sew a tiny bit, but not anything complicated.
So I've decided to dress him as Charlie Brown! He has hardly any hair and it will be super easy. I'm going to find a yellow t-shirt and black pants, and then probably draw on the chevron stripe with a sharpie. Then I'll use eye liner pencil to draw that squiggle of hair he has on DS's forehead. Add in a little stuffed Snoopy toy and we're good to go! It's easy, cheap, and relatively creative I think! I'm super excited about this idea if you can't tell!
I really want to dress DS as a cowboy and maybe have DD as a horse or cow. But I'm not in love with that as her costume. I'm waiting to see what Target has. I always love their infant/toddler costumes, generally run $15-$25 and usually they are 30% off a couple weeks before Halloween with plenty left to choose from.
These are DS's last two from Target: 3 months, Pea in a Pod and 15 months, Garden Gnome
I also like the Charlie Brown idea.
If I had a girl she would wear this. I think.
These are my favorite monkey ones.
I picked up this one for DD at a consignment sale for $10.
Too cute! Where did you find that sock monkey one?
We got dressed up for the Jewish holiday Purim in March.
DD went as C3P0 (I found the costume online for $10) and DH went as Chewbacca (we found a t-shirt at Kohl's) and then he wore her on his back like in one of the movies. I went as Darth Maul (also a $10 costume online and we borrowed the light saber from our friend). Our friends' son went as Yoda and the mom was Darth Vader and the dad was a Jedi knight. It was really cute.
A few years ago, my sis dressed her sons as monkeys and she dressed as a zookeeper.
It was on amazon.com
Thanks jcole...going to check it out now...
