Pregnant after IF

My Little Guy is Breech

Had an appt today and the Dr expected him to be head down. He said "most" babies at this point are head down but I shouldn't be concerned. He said if he's not head down by 34 weeks, then they will have to talk options.

Options? What options? Well I either plan a C Section or I can have an aversion in which they try to turn the baby manually.

uh, I hope this boy turns on his own before my next appt.

Re: My Little Guy is Breech

  • That seems to be a trend! I'm going to say it's that he loves hearing Mommy's hearbeat closer to his ears. Hope he flips for you though! I have heard versions are no fun Sad

  • O no!

Im sure there are some things you could try to get LO to turn on his own. Im sure a Google search would yield a bunch of ideas.

Here's to hoping he turns all on his own!

There is a lot that can be done. There are many exercises and positions you can practice to encourage the baby to rotate. Chiropractic care, specifically the webster technique, can loosen ligaments so that the uterus is shaped such that the baby has room to move. Acupuncture can help. Hypnosis can help. A doctor can do a version. There is lots. The spinning babies website has lots of info.

  • Don't worry! My little man kept flipping back and forth the last few weeks. He finally decided to stay down. Just remember he still has plenty of room in there. GL!
  • I'm still breech also. I'm getting another u/s next Monday, so hopefully he'll be down by then.

  • My little guy has always been breech. I know he still has time, but it makes me wonder if he enjoys it that way.

You still have time, sweetie, don't worry about it. Sending baby tons of turning vibes!

  • I found out my little guy was breech around 32 weeks when I started having preterm labor complications. My OB said that boys are notorious for NOT flipping, but there is definitely a chance that he will! Good luck hun. I hope he flips on his own, but if not there are definitely things you can try to get him to flip. I didn't have that option because of all the complications I had. In the end my water broke and I was rushed in for a c-section.

  • I'm sorry your little guy is breech, but as others have said there's still plenty of time and plenty that can be done - try not to stress! Sending you head-down vibes :)

  • My gal is still breech as well. I was told to do a few various exercises/poses where hy hips are higher than my head. They also said to try to put a radio between my legs b/c babies are curious and like to move towards where they hear sound. Another option is to put a package of frozen peas on the top of your stomach (where the head is now). The thought behind this is that babies like to be where it's nice & warm and will move away from the coldness.

  • My little man has been breech since 28 weeks and hasn't moved. He is apparently very comfortable where he is. Your OB most likely will discuss the external version, as well as other techniques such as the Webster technique which is done by chiropractors which specialize in it. Make sure you do your research as well as hear all the risks and benefits to the version. I am electing not to attempt it as the risks do not outweigh the benefits to me, but I know others who have done it with no issues. (No success, but no issues).
