Contractions every 15 min

It is 5:00am now and I have been having painful contractions every 15 min since 11pm last night. I have a dr appt this afternoon, but I will probably call the dr office when they open today. I am a FTM, so I don't know much. Do you think this sounds like the real thing? I also had painful contractions on Monday night, but those were 25 min apart.

  • Wait until they are under 10 minutes apart... How are you doing now?

They are still 15 min apart and lasting 30-45secs, so they are bearable. I guess I won't be going to work today. I'm 39w3d today and I was supposed to start my maternity leave at the end of this week.
  • Lasted longer at work than a lot of us :P Try and get some sleep while they're still some-what far apart! Nap as much as you can while your body still lets you. It may take a few hours before they become closer together.

     Good luck!!

  • I have a doc apptat 830 and have been having contractions every 7-10 minutes since yesterday afternoon.  They aren't super painful or unbearable just uncomfortable and definitely timeable so I have no clue whether they are the real deal or not.  I would not have called unless my water broke, they were super painful, or closer together.  You may be able to hold off until your appt.

I would definitely try and sleep.  I was able to, but everytime I woke up to pee I was having another....

I hope it's time for you!  Every time I tried to lay down last night, it made the pain worse.  I slept in 10-15 min increments sitting up on the couch.  Every time I needed to pee also made the pain worse.  My appt is at 2:30 pm today.  I'll probably go for a walk this morning and tidy up the house before my appt.

  • Well, unfortunately, I know exactly what you are talking about, OP. I've been having time-able semi-painful contractions every ten minutes starting every night when I go to bed, and stopping right before my alarm goes off in the morning. I've been getting no sleep and still have to come to work in the morning. This is since Monday. :( I hope you progress faster than I have!!
