What do you think. The Little Gym or Gymboree?

Im looking into both for my soon to be 16 monther. Last year we were at the little gym and really enjoyed it but I have also heard great things about gymboree. Any thoughts?

  • We've been going to The Little Gym since Emma was 4 months old.  Love it, but we also don't have a Gymboree class near us, so it's hard to compare.

  • Gymboree hands down. They have way more classes, liberal make up class policy and the best part - OPEN GYM!  We've gone to two dif locations and i love both, currently taking learn & play and go to open gym 2x a week, so 3 days a week we are there, which in the TX heat is a godsend. :)

Our friend's LO goes to Little Gym, it doesn't have open gym & you can only make up missed classes on a specific time/day, at least the ones here near us.

  • We've been going to Little Gym since DS was 4 months old.  We love it.

They don't have open gym, but you can make up a class any other time during the week as long as that class isn't already full of regular registrants.

DS doesn't walk yet, but the kids who do have a blast on all the equipment.

We never did the trial class with Gymboree since LG is more convenient time and location wise.  Gymboree is also a monthly fee vs. LG which is per semester.  I also believe LG will refund you should something come up and you have to drop out.

  • We only have Romp N Roll and the Little Gym and we will only go to Romp N Roll - also many classes, open gym time, late night, kids night out, etc.

  • We never tried Gymboree, but DD did TLG for a "semester."  She loved every second, but I got a little tired of the routine, so we haven't been back.  Maybe when the weather gets too cold again, we may go back.

  • We tried 1 class of both when LO#1 was about 6 - 7 mos. LO liked Little Gym when he got to swing on the swing. I think he got more out of Gymboree. We went to the music class and he had a good time. Then afterwards we went to open gym play. He would get much more out of the classes now, but for now it is not in our budget. Besides, I am not one for scheduled classes. I like to take LO to things if we are at a good point in the day to go to an event.
