Parenting after 35

My kid has quite the adventurous palate

I had some Roquefort cheese left over from when I had a friend over for cheese and wine a week or so ago. Used it to make a cheese sauce over pasta for lunch today and thought M would turn his nose up at it... he loved it!!!

Just ate a bar of dark chocolate with black sea caramel and he loved that too!

How lucky am I???

Re: My kid has quite the adventurous palate

  • My girl is also a fairly adventurous eater and I agree that it is great.

  • My kid would only eat a piece of dry bread and water with ice cubes for supper.   We're food striking again tonight.

    You're lucky.

  • Right on!  Yay for adventurous eaters!

  • Got a little foodie there!

  • Lucky!  DD preferred a plain tortilla over a quesadilla today.  She will eat most any fruit and some vegetables (I am happy about that) but turns her nose up at any type of meat or poultry.

  • Sweet! He can come eat at our house then! DH loves unusual food, but the kids are always eating it before he can get to it. Would he go for kippers and blue cheese?
  • A boy after my own heart!  Maybe he needs a Baby Zagats!

  • That is excellent!  DD tends towards the picky side, which is kind of a pain.
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.

I know. Didn't mean to rub it in :(

    Hehehe...
  • Mine too.  Loves Olives, tzatziki sauce, buffalo chicken skewers (mild), souvlaki, radishes, fish.  Pretty much anything we eat, he'll eat, most of the time.  Sometimes he won't eat meat, but tit's usally because the texture requires too much chewing.

  • Little M is like Big M.  He will eat nearly anything but fruit.  I think it is a texture thing.

  • I'm impressed!

Little Man isn't so adventurous. I can't say he's awful but he's picky and won't always try new things.

  • That's great! My guy is still little and eats everything - I hope that continues.

  • Lucky! Sarah is so picky but I don't stress about it anymore, as she is still growing like a weed.

  • That's awesome!  I am freaking out about what to pack for M's lunches next week.  He still prefers purees and cereal, but I know they don't want to deal with all of that prep work at school.  He might be eating goldfish and yogurt for lunch this semester!
