I will be moving to germany late novemberish.... and was reading about peoples experiances with the pcs movers.. and was making the comment do not prepack, you can presort even if they ignore it, but that if you pack something they will unpack it and repack it. my big problem is, 99% of our stuff is in storage, i moved back in with my mom til we knew what was going on to save momey and so everything except my cloths and a few items are pack in storage, i really really want to know if there is away that i can keep them from unpackin and repacking everything!?! any suggestions would be greatly loved thank you!

Re: Not a Baby ???. about Pcs???
We had some of our things packed in plastic bins when we PCSed to Hawaii. I think the movers checked the boxes before they closed them (because they had to record the contents on the paperwork), then wrapped the entire plastic bin in their padded brown wrapping paper. That was my first PCS, so I don't know if that's normal.
It really depends on the movers. We have done 4 moves with the packers, and some will repack and some won't.
My advice, leave everything how it is, and if they repack it they repack it. They are being paid to pack your stuff.

I also had a few things in storage already. We had used plain and liqour store boxes but labled them. They left everything as is I think but majority of the boxes were books or things in the box we bought them in already packed pretty well.
Good luck, it is odd to have them pack your stuff but they are fast and pretty good at it. We just received our stuff and nothing was broken, they over wrapped most things I thought. My DH also had to keep reminding me they are getting paid to do it so let them. The way they mislabel some things are funny though but as long as you get all your stuff back its fine.
This is exactly why you would want them to repack. You are not paying for the boxes, paper, or repacking time- so let them do it.
We PCSed in April. They repacked an entire garage of already packed items from my parents house. It took them an extra day just to repack everything.

Our movers did the exact same, I think to them it's a relief not to do more work :P
We had a bunch of stuff in a POD before our move last August (cross country, but not OCONUS...not sure of the differences in terms of the pack out). They repacked things. There was a liability issue if they didn't. FWIW, some of the items I had in storage that were fragile they didn't remove the bubblewrap and such...they just checked the condition of the item, put the bubblewrap back on and then wrapped it in the infamous paper and stuck it in the box.
There is a small chance (you could ask, but I wouldn't count on them saying yes) that they'd let things stay prepacked...but you'd have to sign off on the liability of those box numbers.
