Anyone else have a code name for their baby? My husband and I are trying as best we can not to tell anyone until 13 weeks (I see my Mom that week and she HAS to be the first). I find that, in public instances or if you're trying to cover up morning sickness or something, it's best to have a code name. So, since it is Summer, we felt it appropriate to call the baby "Guacamole." That way, when someone asks if I'm nto feeling well I can say..."Well, not really, this guacamole just isn't sitting right today."
Re: Baby code names
My DH does lumberjack competitions. There is one event called hotsaw. It is basically chainsaws with bike or go-cart engines. So they go wicked fast and really loud. Dumb event to me but whatever. Uses a special fuel. The exhaust doesn't smell pleasant at all but not usually a big deal. The day before our BFP we were at a competition and the hotsaw exhaust almost made me throw up. So that was our first sign something was up.
So DH calls the baby or the pregnanct "hotsaw."
I know. We're weird.
Married: 1/2008 ~ DD#1: 3/2012
TTC #2: Started 4/2014 BFP 7/30/15 MC 8/3/15 BFP 9/4/2015 EDD 5/16/2016
We're calling our little one Cubby.
And we finally started to tell a few people, and we say that name so people won't call the baby "it".
xo
We call the baby LBB (Little Baby -Our Last Name- )
Yes much better than "it" haha
DH also calls it Bumpie when we are at home. And we call it Baby Wheat. DH's college (and still) nickname was Buck wheat. They called his dad Papa Wheat and his little brother Mini Wheat. So it just makes sense.

The "guacamole" name is really cute. My husband calls our baby "Skip." Name came from the fact that I'm due March 17th, but if baby comes early (which could happen according to my high-risk pregnancy), it could come on February 29th. Yep, next year's leap year! You can probably figure out the reasoning for "Skip."
Guacamole fits a little better....like you said, "guacamole just isn't sitting right today." We might have to think of a few saying about Skip (we're not finding out boy or girl, so I could see that being the nickname all the way through the pregnancy--even though we're not considering that for a name).
We don't have a code name, but we do have a nickname...Baby Bears.
DH started calling me Katie Bears when we were dating (and he got named John Bears) and once we got married, it's kind of transitioned to Mr. & Mrs. Bears. So, Baby Bears it is!
Once we find out the gender in October, we'll start calling him/her by the appropriate name we've chosen.
Skip is cute, too!
You could say something like...I should have skipped that extra helping last night or something. My EDD is March17th, too! We'd figure if the baby was born on St. patty's Day...it would either make them a drunk or lucky. Just kidding.
