Pregnant after IF

AW: Fun stuff today!

So last night DH and I talked more and finally decided on a daycare:)  DH is going to fill out the registration and lock in our placement today!  I'm so excited to have such a big thing checked off the list.  It's been weighing on my mind and we started the search a good 6 weeks ago so I'm excited to have it over with.

ANnnnnnd tonight we start our childbirth class!  It's 4 weeks long and I'm hoping to get a lot of good information.  DH is not looking forward to watching any videos of vaginal births or c-sections though:P

On a not so fun note, I started my "diet" that's required for 3 days prior to my 3h GTT on Friday and it's ridiculous.  It's more food than I ever eat in a day and I'm having trouble with it.  I've only had "breakfast" and I'm supposed to have a midmorning snack soon and then lunch.  I feel like I"m going to gain 10lbs alone just in these 3 days.  I also feel like I'm being set up to fail.  It's a very carb heavy diet so I'm not sure what they expect for the test day:P

  • I enjoyed the classes. But my DH enjoyed them more. He watched all the scary videos while I closed my eyes and asked if it was over yet. Guys can surprise you. GL with the diet.

  • My first class was last week and it was so funny to see all these ladies with big bellies waddling around like me. I'm glad we're taking them because it really gets DH involved.

I was diagnosed with pre GD early on and placed on that same diet for a while and I was having a hard to time eating all the food they wanted me to.  Same thing, I wasn't used to eating so much food but I think it's helped my metabolism because I've barely gained weight in the pg so far.

    good luck!

    IUI#1 - 05/20/08 = BFP! M/C - 14 weeks :( baby girl
    IUI#2 - 01/07/09 = BFP!!! Twins!! Pre-term labor 20 weeks :( lost twin girls
    IUI#3 - 1/31/10 = BFP!!!! M/C - 8wks :( again
    IVF #1 - 7/2010 = c/p
    FET - 9/2010 = another c/p
    IUI#4 - 2/14/11 = BFP!

  • Congrats on picking out a daycare, that's a huge load off your mind I know!  Have fun at your childbirth class!  I really need to register for mine.  I keep putting it off, you've inspired me to call today!!  :)  Good luck with your diet for your 3hr GTT!

  • I know how this area can get daycare-wise, so this is a biggie to cross off. We did that, but we're still looking at some options.

Sorry about the GTT diet, ugh. I am afraid I might have to do that too eventually. Keeping my fingers crossed that you pass!

That would be awesome if it helped keep my weight down.  I think I'm ok in how much I've gained but I feel like I'm on track to gain a lot overall.  It is what it is and I'm not going to truely diet during the pregnancy but if eating like this helps, I'll take it:)  However, being required to eat like this and only this certain stuff seems like it will get old fast:P

I really hope I'm surprised in a good way.  Right now DH doesn't even want to be in the room when I deliver.  He's somewhat squeemish so he thinks he's going to pass out but I told him 1. he doesn't have a choice, I need him there, 2. He doesn't have to watch it, he can just look at me, and 3. when its HIS baby girl being born, he might have a whole new attitude.  :) We'll see how it goes:P
