Pregnant after IF

Spinning Babies

Has anyone done any of these exercises/poses (or known anyone who has) to try to get their breech baby to flip?

I went to the OB yesterday and asked her about how the baby is breech and when she should turn. She gave me a printout of some of the same poses as the Spinning Babies site ( ex: the inversion pose). I tried it last night and felt like all the blood was rushing to my head & my feet were getting tingly. If it actually does work, though, I will continue it but I don't know if I can actually do it 3x a day (my coworkers would give me looks if they saw me doing the inversion here at work).

So, if it worked for you/someone else, how often did you do it and how long did it take to get the baby to flip? I know I still have some time but the MW told me that now is the best time to try to get her to move since she will only get bigger (less room to move).

Re: Spinning Babies

  • They said they could try a version ( manually trying to get her to move) but that it is not always successful and isn't a walk in the park. The MW said they they don't even attempt a version until a person is further along so if I can try to get her to flip now by doing the poses, I would be better off.

  • Someone had just posted that site on my SIL's FB page b/c she was saying she thought her baby had flipped.  She's been sleeping in a recliner though and apparently that can be a bad position to cause baby to flip.

Someone else said that you can do it in a pool.  Being weightless helps and then when you get out gravity helps to flip her back head down.  These are all just things I've heard, so I don't know how well they work.

I know OhioStateGal had a version and said it was painful but was over fairly quickly so she was able to get through it, and it worked for her.  Good luck!

This actually sounds like the most relaxing position/exercise I have heard. Most want me to have my head down & hips up high. There's only so long I can stay like that before getting light headed or having a bad heartburn attack.
