Ok first question. Does anyone in 3rd tri feel discomfort/pressure in their bladder pretty much all the time? When I walk I feel it, when I'm riding in a cab with the jerky start/stop...basically any kind of movement that puts any weight on it is uncomfortable. I did have a slight UTI but I just finished a course of antibiotics for that! This just started for me.
Second question. Do you do kick counts? When did you start? My OB hasn't mentioned anything to me about that yet...

Re: Two Qs: Bladder Discomfort and Kick Counts
i don't have the constant bladder discomfort sorry i don't have any advice. i hope it resolves for you soon!
for kick counts, i think the rule of thumb is you want to feel 10 kicks/swooshes/movements of any kind in an hour. if you don't, have glass of OJ or something sweet and cold and lay on your side. if another hour goes by without enough kicks, call your doctor
i pay attn to kicks, but don't count them unless it's been a while since i remember feeling one.
This is basically what I've been doing.

Lately I've been having this all day discomfort around my pelvic region. Almost like I worked out and my muscles are sore. I also seem to always have the urge to pee when I really don't have to which is really annoying.
As for kick counts, I was told to start them at 28wks. I was doing them daily for a while but now I count when I remember.
IUI#2 - 01/07/09 = BFP!!! Twins!! Pre-term labor 20 weeks
IUI#3 - 1/31/10 = BFP!!!! M/C - 8wks
IVF #1 - 7/2010 = c/p
FET - 9/2010 = another c/p
IUI#4 - 2/14/11 = BFP!
The bladder discomfort is totally normal. But may not last forever. It could just be the position the baby is in, and a change in position will provide some relief... or it could stick around. Bladders get smooshed. :-)
As for kick counts, my OB never told me to do them. and when I asked, they said 10 kicks over 2 hours after 28 weeks. So really, I also just did what others have said - if it seems like I haven't felt baby move in a bit, then I count. Otherwise, regular movement is perfectly fine, and I don't worry about the specific count.
Because we're fancy like that.
Every now and then I have bladder discomfort, but just depending on where she's situated at that time. Not constant by any means.
My OB just had me start kick counts after my last appt. So 28-29 weeks. Your OB will have you start when you get closer to that time, I'm sure.
Are you carrying low? I am, and my bladder suffers the most. So it may be just baby's position.
I am not doing kick counts yet, but my understanding is that they are what the pp said.
