Do you actually work out together or is the challange just in the weigh ins? If you don't work out together then just stay in the program and act really disappointed when you don't lose weight? It'd only be until the 2nd trimester (assuming you tell them then) and they'll understand why you didn't lose any of it!
If they expect you to work out with them then tell them you just joined a gym that's really expensive and your H would kill you if you didn't go?
I don't really want to join and fake it because 1) it is $50 to join, and 2) they are doing weigh-ins in the office. UGH!
We aren't planning on announcing until at least 10 weeks.
Since it costs money can you use that as an excuse? Say that you've been trying hard to pay off student loans or that DD needs new clothes or something like that.
I say join and fake it. You'll probably be eating healthier, so it will be easy to fake. Plus, it could make for a fun work reveal if you are close to your cowworkers once you decide it is time.
Are you one that is still nursing? If so, I would say you don't want to pay $50 when it's impossible to lose while nursing. If not, I'd use the money excuse.

YES! Thank you! This is actually something they will believe!

Giggles, too funny. Gotta love those make believe friends they don't nag u when you gain a pound or two.
This is exactly what I was going to recommend.. tell them you are already doing one and are financially committed to it...
I would just use the cost as the excuse.
