South Florida Babies

does anyone have the Fisher Price or Leapfrog Musical Table?

If so, does your baby like it?  Did it get a lot of use?

I've been wanting to get Elise something like this, but I keep debating it.  Most of her toys are small - blocks, nesting cups, stacking rings, stuffed animals etc.  But, I feel like she needs something that she can use to stand up and cruise.  Her bday is coming up in 2 months and my mom told me to just wait because she'll probably get a bunch of new toys.  Then, for Christmas, she'll probably get more toys.  So, IDK if it's worth the almost $50 for this toy now.  She also doesn't seem to care too much for electronic toys.  I got her the v-tech ball a while ago and she has never played with it.  She's pushed the buttons a couple of times, but that's it.  She seems to prefer the smaller toys and books that she can hold and manipulate with her hands.

  • Yes...K has the LeapFrog and HE LOVES it!  My mom just bought him the Fisher Price one from Greece...so it has it all in Greek.  We just need an Italian version and we are set! LOL  K also loves his Around We Go by Bright Stars...we took off the seat because he is too tall and now it is his activity center/play area.  He loves to dance to music and especially that...he does the cutest booty shake and makes sure to see if people are watching him.

  • Awww!  He's so cute!  Elise loves music, too.  She shakes her booty, too, when she hears music and claps her hands.

I can't believe our little babies are getting so big!
  • We got the boys this for Christmas last yr and they have been playing with it for several months and LOVE It!  We just added the legs so they stand up on it now.  I personally think it is worth the investment.  MIL has one by CHICCO, and they were playing with it yesterday non-stop.  It is very entertaining for them bc lots to do, buttons to press, fun music.

If you really want the table, I think right now is a perfect age for Elise to play with it and helps her with standing up and balance.  I'd buy one... and if it gets duplicated or too much toys, you can either 1) hold on to them and give to her little by litte (which is what we've been doing with Christmas toys so far) or 2) return them for other things.

ETA - I like the Leap Frog one bc it is in Spanish too, which is the only mode we keep it in.  LOL

  • Thx, Jackie!  Both, the Leapfrog one and the FP one are bilingual which I LOVE!

I guess this could be the LAST toy we buy her before her bday and the holiday season.  The only time she can crawl around and stand up is when we let her roam around the house, but she ALWAYS goes for the dangerous stuff, lol.  I figure this could be that ONE thing that she can play with in and outside of her play area.

  • The boys LOVE getting to the corners they don't belong.  We have our laptops chargers in the family room on the side table, and they love crawling into there, so we bought them a large "cage" to keep them contained.

  • LMAO!  We have the "cage," too!  But, I pretty much have to be in there.  The only times she seems to be okay in there without me is after she eats.  It's like she understands that I have to clean up in the kitchen.

I was playing with her around the house and she always goes for the speaker cables and then she loves to crawl under the coffee tables like if they're little obstacles.  I don't like to let her crawl around the house too much either because of all the dog hair.

  • DD has the Leapfrog one from when she turned 1 and she has loved it from the very first day!  Ok, well now she thinks it's cool to climb and stand on it, but she also still loves playing with it and I am constantly purposely leaving the Spanish mode on for her to continue her billingual growth.

  • J has the Fisher Price one :) We bought it for him last black friday for $19! We actually had both the FP and the LF in the house at one point and they have the same exact features. I stayed with the FP one because I love the design of the FP better. I love the faces with the big eyes. As soon as J started standing it's become one of his favorite toys. He plays with it all day.

  • Thx, girls!  we ordered the LF one from Amazon for $39.  It should arrive tomorrow.  I kinda liked the FP one better, too, but the Spanish translation sound like a gringo is saying the words.  Why couldnt they get somone who speaks proper Spanish?!  LOL
