Most do. But, you should always double check. However, you will have to wash and relanolize when the cover starts to smell. So you will probably eventually have to do it.
There is an awesome tutorial on lanolizing on the green mountain diapers page. Don't have the link handy right now, but maybe I will go look for it in a second.

i wash and lanolize all in one step. in a mason jar a add a squirt of dr bronners soap (I'll sometimes use baby wash instead), a decent squirt of liquid lanolin, and a few drops of both lavender and tea tree oil and then hot water. i shake this all up to mix every really well and then add it to a tub of lukewarm water.
I then add my woolies and lightly scrub them and turn everything inside out and let them soak for at least 30 min, sometimes if I'm busy doing other things they've soaked for a couple hours.
drain the water and gently squeeze out most of the excess water. some people say to roll them up in towels to get out the excess but I just put then in the washer and do a low spin only cycle and then lay them out to finish drying
Re: Are wool covers purchased lanolized or is it a DIY task?

It depends. This is the tutorial I use: Linky. It's super easy! Don't be intimidated (I know I was!)
Some are, some aren't.
I *think* it's discussed in the FAQs
This is my favorite method. I use a peri bottle that I brought home from the hospital.
