3rd Trimester

Anyone else in severe pain?

I have severe lower back pain and pelvic pain.  Anyone else with this?  It hurts to move and getting out of a bed/chair/couch hurts so bad it is excruciating.  My doctor keeps telling me it is normal but I dont see how this much pain can be normal.

::Sighs::  I cant wait to have this baby.

Re: Anyone else in severe pain?

  • Yes. All the time. This is not my favorite month of pregnancy!

  • I was just getting ready to post about this! I've been having pelvic pain that started very gradual the other day, and last night when I got up to pee I could barely walk.  It's more on my right side, and laying down helps, but walking is very uncomfortable.  I've done some google searches, and it sounds like it's normal when the baby drops the head separates your pubic bones.  I'm not sure why I'm just feeling it on my right side, though.  I'm 34w1day.  Any FTM out there know if this means you are closer to labor?

  • Yes and Yes to the back and pelvic pain!! My mom tells me it's normal but it certainly does not feel normal! The pelvic pain is the worst at night....like it hurts to roll over and then I don't look forward to getting out of bed in the morning cause I know it's going to hurt for a while. Definitely ready for this baby to get here!

  • Wow, I feel like you read my mind. I totally have this, it just started like 3 or 4 days ago, and it's so uncomfortable and painful. Sometimes it's a sharp pain, and other times it's just dull, just from moving around. Esp annoying when I'm rolling over in bed and it's like oweee!!! just to get to the other side. Ugh. :( sorry to the other girls going through this too:(

  • Yeah. Prior to when I injured the cartilage in my pubic bone, I had days where I couldn't shuffle or crawl and had to stay sitting or in bed all day.

  • I have some lower back pain but the feeling in  my pelvic region is more of a tugging and pressure feeling.  I feel like I am being pulled downward and sideways.  It isn't fun and makes sleeping difficult.  I got a little over two wks and I cannot wait to have her with me instead of inside of me.  I wonder too if it means labor or at least that labor is close.  I am an FTM too and have no idea what to expect.  Good Luck to you.  Hope your little one doesn't too early.

Try some of these prenatal yoga moves.  My favorite is the cat-cow stretch because it takes the weight of the baby off your lower back.

  • Ugh ive been having it for the last week extremely bad. I get up in the night to pee and cant even walk. I just have tears in my eyes it hurts so bad. But I try and do yoga so i hope that starts helping :)

  • Ohhh the pelvis. When I get up from sitting or laying in bed I can barely get them close enough together to walk. I too cry when I get up at night to pee, which is every 2 hours! The only position I am comfy in anymore is this computer chair. Luckily my back has been alright, she's all in my front.

  • I wouldn't call mine severe but definitely really sore and uncomfortable.  Especially at the end of the day after sitting at my desk.  And getting up (from bed or sitting) is quite a chore.  I assume it is because baby is snuggling into my pelvis.
