Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

Q5: Anything you want to add.

Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)

Re: Roll Call

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? I'm not too sure about this. I guess that breast feeding isn't as easy/enjoyable as I thought it would be. Mostly I get bored and I hate smelling like milk.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  Fairly well. He's away with work a lot so its an adjustment everytime he comes home. I love seeing them interact and knowing that he is so smitten with his little girl.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. Rolling over back to front, sitting for short periods of time and giving people the stink eye.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? I think so. At first I thought that maybe her middle name and first name should be switched. Now I'm so use to it I couldn't imagine calling her anything else.

Q5: Anything you want to add. If I could do it all over again I would have never moved away from family. I feel bad that everyone is missing so much of her growth. I also feel bad for me because I'm all alone most of the time and having family around to help would be lovely.

Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)  I'm bored too. I'm sick of cleaning and there isn't anything good on tv.

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?  I have maternal instincts... and I tend to believe them, over what the pedi says etc. (ie. sunscreen use).  Also, I'm with pp, I am no longer bfing due to complications but it was awful while I was doing it and even though I am a huge supporter of bfing and was the BIGGEST advocate prior to trying, I honestly don't know if I'll try it again when we have #2.  I felt like I bonded so much better over the bottles and we were so much more relaxed, and less stressed!!

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood? DH has been a father for 11+ years but I didn't see him interacting with SS until he was 7.  I think he's doing a great job - he doesn't like to get up in the middle of the night but he does it... he's very hands on after work every night as well!!

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. He's not crawling or rolling back to belly yet (he can get on his side), he does roll belly to back, sitting for a few seconds unsupported.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? I think so.  He's named Liam Douglas (Liam (Irish name) for my Grandfather, William, and Douglas (Scottish name) for my Father.  He is very fair, blondish-red hair, blue eyes (they still might change...).  He looks like a Liam to me!!

Q5: Anything you want to add.  I really love being a mom!!  I know it was what I was meant to do!  Also, I disagree with PP, Hells Kitchen and Masterchef were both on tonight Wink

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? That I am actually able to breastfeed. When ttc, I never gave it a thought. I was just going to formula feed. DH really wanted me to give it a try. I didn't think I'd be able to because of my PCOS. DS will be 5 month tomorrow and I'm still BF. My supply is starting to dip but I have a nice freezer stash so I won't have to use formula for awhile.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  Pretty good. He has come along way. He still won't change a poopy diaper but he doesn't get completely grossed out with spit up anymore. LOL.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. He can roll both ways and scoots all over the floor now. He can sit unsupported for a few seconds if I arrange him correctly. Big Smile

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? I think so. His name is Nathan James. He looks like a Nathan to me. Plus, Nathan means "gift from God". We had to go through infertility treatments and I feel like he is my gift from God.

Q5: Anything you want to add. I get really depressed sometimes when I think of all the trouble we had ttc. I know that he is most likely our one and only and I should enjoy every moment but I get really upset thinking I will never wear maternity clothes, feel LO move in me, the excitement of u/s, etc. Then I get mad at myself for feeling that way. I feel that I'm being greedy. I'm blessed to have DS and I should be putting my focus on to him and not thinking about it.

(2) That I wasn't a sobbing mess when I went back to work (3) That I really, really love breastfeeding.Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  Very well. He's been absolutely amazing. He works a lot of hours, so that has been harder on him than he thought. He really misses seeing DD.Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.Right now we are working on sitting up (she can tripod for a few minutes) and scooting around.Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Totally. :)Q5: Anything you want to add. Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? --

How fun, exhausting, rewarding, disgusting, unnerving it is. And how much I can love another little person.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

He is amazing, incredibly patient and very involved.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

She is a little rolling machine (both ways) and getting close to creeping

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

Yes - I can't imagine calling her anything else!

Q5: Anything you want to add.

    <3

  • i soooo should be sleeping right now but i haven't properly bumped in so long!

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

everything?! i never thought about kids until i got hit with baby fever about 2 years ago. well 2 years before i got off the pill.  anyway i LOVE being a mom. i thought it would be so much harder to think of someone else first but i love that baby so much.  amazing to me.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

he's the best. he's a SAHD so he spends the majority of the day with her. i was mostly bummed at first that he got laid off at the beginning of the year when i was about 6-7 months pregnant but it was a total blessing.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

she's eating solids. rolls both ways. rocks back and forth on all fours. she is inches away from proper crawling but creeps/scoots very fast. she's a sitting up champ and is getting better everyday with not swaying or having her chin way down near the floor as she sits up. woo! i could be making this up but i think she's starting to give kisses.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

addison was a ringer because i was dead set on Hadley so it took me a couple weeks to get used to the idea. we mostly call her Addy and that fits her and i know she will grow into an Addison.

Q5: Anything you want to add.

after being a mom for almost 6 months its still ridiculously hard for me to change addy. i don't mean diapers, but i mean onesies and outfit changes.  its soooo hard for me to get it over her head and her arms out.  she used to get so mad with me but now she just thinks its funny and tries to roll over on the changing table. and i have no idea how to comb her hair! it's so curly. and that bald ring around the middle of her head is maddening!

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?
That NOTHING went as I had planned while I was pregnant.  Brook came out rebelling, lol.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?
For HIM, its not that big of a change it seems.  He goes to work the same as he did before, gets home and plays with Brook, but as far as taking care of her, it's all on me.  Even his days off, parenting is up to me, playtime is up to him.  It's getting really annoying.  He has seen a LOT more of my temper since Brook's arrival.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.
Brook's rolling over now, and can balance herself in a sitting position for a couple of seconds.  We've got her eating solids (tried fruits for the first time tonight, bananas) now.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?
At first I wasn't sure, but it seems to slide off the tongue a lot easier now.  We had such a hard time finding a girls name, we're out of luck if we have another girl eventually.

Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)

    Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? How much I really enjoy breastfeeding (even though I have to supplement, too). Also I think I am surprised with how well I can "read" my baby sometimes.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He loves him so much and they have a lot of fun playing together. I think he still finds it hard to engage ds for long periods of time, though.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. He rolls both ways, although he doesn't roll belly to back much anymore. He can sit tripod for a minute or so, he babbles, laughs, smiles, grasps and reaches.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Yes, I think so, although dh says that when people ask his name, it sounds like I am saying it as a question, lol.

Q5: Anything you want to add. I could go on and on but I'll stop here, lol

Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? I  was surprised at how long I could survive without a good nights sleep.  Granted, when I hit my limit, it was bad.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood? Really well.  Now that E is more interactive, he really enjoys talking to her, 'flying' around the living room, complaining about work instead of playing with baby.   : D

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. E is 5 months old today! She can roll from tummy to back when it suits her and from tummy to side (but not quite all the way over).  She loves sitting up and standing (all assisted)

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Hmm, this is a tough one.  Sometimes I think 'Elizabeth' is just too much name for a baby, but I don't care for any of the shorter nicknames.

Q5: Anything you want to add. God Bless doctors and pharmacists.  without them, E would be a sad sad reflux baby and I would be a sad sad PPD mommy.

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? How much fun I actually have.  How I can be so calm when DD is screaming her head off.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He has his ups and dows, but overall he is doing so much better than I expected.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. She rolls over, giggles, smiles, and has awesome head control.  She is also discovering standing and putting her feet in her mouth.  She has one tooth coming in any day now!

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Yes, I still think it fits her

Q5: Anything you want to add. People who say "Illi-Noise" irritate me.  The S is silent!!! (sorry I know really random.  But this guy who sits near me keeps saying it and I want to shake him and scream at him lol.)

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?  I always thought that I would want to return to work after having the baby.  I was surprised when I realized that I wanted to be a SAHM.  Unfortunately, not going to happen.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He has been amazing from the start.  I am very lucky!

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.  He rolls both ways and stays in a sitting position without assistance.  He scoots around but I wouldn't call it crawling.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?  It does.  I almost changed my mind last minute.  I am so glad that I was too tired to think on it any more because now I can't imagine him with any other name.

ETA:  This is a new SN.  Sorry for the confusion.  It is posted with my old one on FB.

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? How well I'm adjusting! I led a pretty selfish life for a while and now it's all about this precious little girl.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He needs to help more, I pretty much do everything baby related.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. She has been able to roll over for a while but just one way. She can scoot around on her tummy really well and gets pretty far just doing that. She loves using her hands and can sit up unassisted for a few moments. She doesn't really like to stand especially when she's tired but she's doing it more and more (assisted of course!).

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Yes, we were going to name her Leila but then changed it. She looks like a Lina now and know that was the name that was meant for her.

Q5: Anything you want to add. I am really proud of myself and my husband. Neither of us have any experience with babies, I never even changed a diaper. We have no family or friends in the area so we were on our own from the very beginning. After a week he went back to work and I was on my own. I never knew that being a mother was as hard as it is (and it's only just begun) but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I can't believe how much I love her I couldn't even put it in words.

  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? That BFing is going well, even though I had a c section. I'm not sure why, but I thought having a c section would destroy my chance at BFing. I was very fortunate that my recovery nurse was so supportive!

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood? He is awesome! For the first 2 weeks all I had to worry about was feeding Zoe and sleeping. He watches her 2 nights a week while I'm at work and they have fun doing daddy-baby things. He wants to be involved in every moment. :)

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. She has been able to roll over for a while but just one way, sometimes the other way. She has just started rolling from belly to back  She lifts up on all 4s but now crawling yet. She just sort of scoots on her belly. She can sit unassisted for a few seconds, and a little longer if she is using the Boppy. She is getting really grabby too. We have just started to have to be careful with what we have around her.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Yes, she didn't have a name for a day and a half because she didn't look like the original name we had chosen. :)

Q5: Anything you want to add. I know I doubt my parenting abilities sometimes, but I find that trusting my instincts has been working out great for both of us. I am just taking it day by day, and so far things have been great! Zoe is a happy, smiley, laid back sweet baby. I never know I could love someone so much (as corny as it sounds). I will fully admit that this was something that took a little time. The forst few weeks were just weird to me. :P

  • Im here!!   Didn't want you all to think I defected!!  No time for the questions today!!
  • Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

Loving another being so much and hating working full time.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

At first it was a little rough, he got jealous a lot but now that she can do more he spends as much time as he can with her.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

Been rolling over for awhile, sits on her own for 5-10 minutes, starting to army crawl, scoots on her back with her legs, loves standing up, and she thinks its funny to make the dogs bark at her.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

    Definitely.

Q5: Anything you want to add.

This morning she woke me up by kicking the bookcase that is next to her bed. Time to rearrange!

    Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? How much DD1 loves DD2.  It is so sweet to watch.  I was ready for jealousy and maybe even anger/frustration, but none of that so far.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He is having a tougher time with 2 than I am, but good overall.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.) She is almost rolling over, but gets stuck on her side.  Then falls asleep.  It is adorable.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Absolutely.

Q5: Anything you want to add. Thank goodness we are halfway through the week!

Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)

    Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood? I didn't think It would come so naturally as it does. or at least did for me.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?  He is doing better. He loves DS so much and DS loves him so much. He is out of town. SO spoke to DS over the phone and DS would hear his voice and stop crying and just look for his daddy. So sad but impressing at the same time.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc. We are working on crawling. He can get in a crawling position take two crawls and then just flatfaces into the carpet. Still having a rough time sitting. For now he gets around by scooting and rolling.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name? Hm. Sometimes I think he doesn't, but I dont picture him with anyother name then Joshuah King. So yes.

Q5: Anything you want to add. He had his 5 month check up yesterday and he is 16lbs and 27''.

  • Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

The fact that I'm actually pretty good at it :)

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

Very very well.  He's a great daddy and loves his daughter super much.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

Stella is pushing herself up with her arms, rolling over (which usually works, but sometimes she gets stuck and gets frustrated), scoots around a little bit on her playmat, laughs, babbles like crazy and grabs and chews anything and everything :)  She's nowhere near being able to sit unassisted, but loves to sit up and stand (up) assisted.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

Definitely.   The older she gets, the more it fits her :)

  • Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

How I am sometimes so good at it, and so bad at it other times.

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

He is doing really well.  He works out of town 3/4 of the time, so he feels bad he isnt around more. When he is home he helps out alot.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc.

She has been rolling both ways for awhile, although recently she will get stuck on her belly and freak out.  She puts everything in her mouth and babbles all the time. She loves to stand up and she can sit for about 30 seconds.

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

Sometimes I think yes, and sometimes I think no. But I can't picture her with any oter name so I guess it does.

Q5: Anything you want to add- Hey all! I have been MIA for awhile, but I just kind of got back into posting. I have lurked off and on but I will try to start posting more. Hope everything has been going well!

  • Who's here?!?

Q1: What has been the most surprising part of motherhood?

Well I've been a mom for a couple of years now but the most surprising thing this time was how grown up DS suddenly seemed. Oh and how well she slept through the night

Q2: How is your DH adjusting to fatherhood?

He is much more confident this time and I trust him more.

Q3: What milestones are you little ones hitting? ie: crawling, rolling over, etc

She can roll but doesn't like to she is a really good sitter though and loves to talk!

Q4: Does your little one "fit" their name?

I'm not sure, Elizabeth seems like such a long name for a little girl. Good thing there are so many nicknames and she may grow into it yet

Q5: Anything you want to add.  Sorry these questions are all over the place. I'm bored :)
