Re: I need sinus medication

  • Regular sudafed ( the kin you have to get from the pharmacist now) and benadryll are both safe. I use a Neti pot when my sinuses are acting up and that helps

  • the only thing that works for me in terms of medication is prescription flonase, which i've been told is not PG safe. i do also sometimes take an OTC allergy med, like zyrtec (NOT the one with the D, the D is not PG safe), and that can help with congestion/runny nose.

the one thing that helps the most that is my sinus rinse (similar to a neti pot). i do it every morning, and it helps sooo much with my sinus issues.

    feel better!

  • I have had 3 sinus infections during this pregancy and was told to take regular Sudafed, tylenol (for the pain) and Robitussian DM (to help drain the sinus cavities). Using a Neti Pot can help as well, but I always ended up just clogging right back up. Sitting/standing in a steamy shower also helped "clear me out.

  • My MFM Dr told me I could take Claritin D and that has been working for me.
