Belly Dancing

I've been varying my routine since I got PG. I recently ran into a woman who teaches belly dancing and she's trying to recruit me. Anyone tried it before? Just trying to get an idea of what type of workout it is...

  • Mind you, I'm very much a brick (o.k. o.k. meathead powerlifter) and not a balarina and even I had fun in the class..  I was at the gym when they were testing out a new instructor and did a single class on a dare and it's something fun yet it's one of the few classes in the gym that there is practical application if you catch my drift LOL...

    Go give the class a try and see if it's for you!  I was definitely the "slowest" one to pick things up in the class and even I had fun with it...

  • I belly dance and I love it.   I loved doing it when I was pregnant, as well.     

    It's decent cardio and really good for your pelvic floor/hips/thighs/butt/abs/ect.  Basically, full body.   My arms are the most toned when I'm dancing regularly:)
