This morning when I was going downstairs for breakfast, I felt the urge to go right there on the stairs with no warning. I didn't have time to make it to the bathroom and it came gushing out. I was terrified wondering if it was pee or something else, like water breaking, but it is much too early for that. But I had just pee'd after waking up like 10 minutes beforehand. I read in my book (WTEWYE) that you should smell it to figure out what it is, and I was pretty sure it was pee.... still scary though. Thank goodness I was at home and not out somewhere. I haven't had any cramps or anything else unusual. The past few weeks whenever I cough or sneeze, I feel a little tinkle, but never gushing alot.
After deciding it was just pee, I thought everything was ok, so Dh and I went to the airport to head to florida for a few days. Now, all day I've been noticing mucous whenever I go the bathroom. Looks mostly clear/yellow, but sometimes hint of pink. I called my dr and he said that could be normal or not... The only way to know was if came in to be checked. However, he said if it turned bright red and bloody, to go to the hospital ASAP. Now I'm kicking myself and feeling guilty being in Florida. I had Dh check and the nearest hospital is really close, but hopefully we don't need it. I'm so worried I won't be able to enjoy myself relaxing on the beach and poolside like I planned. I was supposed to have a OB apt on Friday, but they called last week and said the dr wouldn't be in and cancelled it, moving it to next Friday 8/19 when we get back.
I haven't seen the babies since the NT scan at 12 weeks 1 day but they were both thriving then.
Anyone have what they thought was pee and then mucuous in mid 2nd tri?

Re: My scary day. (pee/mucous)
I'm sorry you are dealing with this, and while you're on vacation, that really sucks. I have yet to wet my pants, though I'm sure it will happen eventually, but I've definitely noticed that discharge has increased in the 2nd tri (which from all I read is completely normal).
Hang in there, I hope it's just normal pregnancy hormones doing their not so fun thing.

Thankful for every day
I don't have personal experience with it, but from what I've heard/read, lots of ladies start having bladder control problems in 2nd and 3rd tri. I imagine with multiples, the timeline for issues like that is moved up a bit, due to the lack of space in there. I would guess the babies moved just right and stimulated your bladder, causing the gush!
As for the mucus - your mucus does increase at times during pregnancy due to hormones. It could also be your mucus plug coming out in bits....don't worry, though! It can come out and regenerate many times over throughout your pregnancy!
I'd say just enjoy your vacation, relax as much as you can, stay hydrated, and pay attention to your body. If you start having major cramps or serious bleeding or anything like that - go to the hospital to get checked out.
Hope you can relax a bit and enjoy the trip away!

I'm so sorry you are going through this AND while on vacation.
I don't have any experiance with pink discharge but I have seen practically every other color and each time they have said it's normal (seriously, my lime green ick from last week came back from the lab as nothing). I have also peed myself more times than I can count and Poise pads are now my best friend. I seriously think I need to buy stock in them.
{{{hugs}}} Thankfully the hospital is near-by and hopefully you won't need to go there. If it's keeping you from enjoying your vacation, though, maybe you can go to quickly get checked?

Actually, its not exactly vacation. Dh is at a work conference and I tagged along. He's in training all day and I was going to chill beach and poolside, and spend time with him at night. I'm kicking myself for coming. I think today, I'll just lay around and hope I don't see blood, and if so, I'll go to the hospital immediately. Otherwise, maybe I'll wait until Dh gets out at 5pm and have him take me to the hospital just to see what's going on.
I'll keep you all posted.

So sorry, it sounds really scary. I agree about putting yourself on bed rest and just taking it really easy.
Keep us updated!
i'm sorry you are dealing with this, i know it must be scary.
i have tinkled in my panties more times than i care to admit this pregnancy. if i throw up, cough, sneeze, laugh - there it goes. it's just what happens, since we have 2 babies in there hanging out on our bladder
i haven't had any mucous, but from what i have read and seen, it is totally normal to have lots of it.
if you are at all concerned, go to the hospital when your H is done for the day. or even go now, just to get it off your mind so you can enjoy the rest of your day.

I'm so sorry, sweetie!! I had something similar last week (3rd tri instead of 2nd) but i'll tell you about it anyway. My discharge has been increasing a ton lately- which is normal- but last week i was sitting on the couch, felt my pants and they were drenched! i smelled my pants and couldnt really smell anything, so I put a pantyliner on and watched it all night. The pantyliner stayed dry the entire night. I called the OB and they told me to come in just to check things out. They checked and I totally just pee'd myself. The doc said a baby could have kicked my bladder causing me to leak.
He also said discharge is totally normal and is typically white but can turn a yellowish color once it hits air (he compared it to an apple changing color once cut). I would just watch your discharge and maybe keep a pantyliner on. If you are soaking through pantyliners, def go to the hosp.
I also had some pink spotting pretty early on. That ended up just being bacterial vaginosis.
This is all to say, I think you're fine- but definitely keep a close watch on everything- not that you wouldnt. And please try and enjoy yourself in FL!!!
huge hugs!!

Not sure what to do now. Sad and lost.
No experience with any of that, but I am glad you're checking it out for your peace of mind. As most weird things during pregnancy, it will probably turn out to be nothing. Keep us posted and (((hugs)))
I am lurking here today and had to respond to this. I don't want to scare you, and I'm sure everything is totally fine, but you should go to L&D at the closest hospital and have them do a swab to make sure the "pee' is not amniotic fluid. It will take them like 5 minutes (plus probably like 45 minutes to get you triaged) and will give you a lot of reassurance. Honestly, twin pregnancies are much more high risk than a singleton pregnancy and you can't be too careful. If on the rare chance you are leaking amniotic fluid, you need antibiotics etc asap.
This happened to me at around 17 weeks and it was pee. It was really helpful for me to get the swab done so I could relax.
I'm sorry, I know how stressful this can be but better to be safe than sorry.
