I keep one stuffed toy and the sleep sheep in her crib and a crocheted blanket. She likes to hang out in her crib and play with her lady bug before we get up in the morning.
Juliana sleeps with a blanket in her crib and she has some stuffed animals that sit on her attached changing table that she can easily pull down if she wants them. Once she falls asleep I usually take them out of her crib and put them back on the changing table for the morning since she likes to play with them before she wakes us up.

DS has had about 4 loveys in his crib for the last 3 months or so. (an aden + anais security blanket, a lion head w/ blankie, a taggie my mom made, and a little hippo lovey from PBK). I'd let him have a blanket for naps but not night time yet.

about 6 months we gave the boys each a stuffed animal. We haven't used blankets yet bc we are still using sleep sacks but I think we are almost done with them now and I have no problem giving them light blankets at this point.

Thanks everyone! No one has had any problems with them putting the blanket on over their face? I'd like to start letting him sleep with something, but I'm nervous he'll put it over his face/suffocate?

He will move it if he does. Hadley went through the stage of putting her blanket over her head. If I looked in and saw it I moved it. NBD.

DD has her lovey in the crib for the past 2-3 months, and sometimes her little puppy stuffed animal. We don't use a blanket yet because its hot here, and she doesn't need one. But when it cools off in a few months we'll use a blanket too.
I know how you feel. I am just worried about putting stuff in with him. About a week ago, I put a little stuffed elephant in there with him. I plan to start putting a small blanket in there soon. I would just say to do it once you feel comfortable.
