TTC after high risk pregnancy (4 years ago)

Hello everyone!  My name is Terra and this is my first time on The Bump.  I was an active member on The Knot, but since my husband and I were married last month (and have decided to try for baby #2) I figured that I would check things out over here.

We have a 4 year old son (Alex), who we thought for the longest time would be our only.  I had severe pre-eclampsia and Alex was born 7 weeks early (emergency c-section).  He was born with a hole in his right lung due to his prematurity and because of the problems with both my son and myself, we assumed we would never have another.  However, after 4 years and much deliberation we have decided to give it one more try!  I had my IUD (Paragard) removed on Wednesday and I started prenatal vitamins yesterday.  We plan to actively start trying in mid-October, in order to give myself time to heal after the IUD.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here!
