My Fair Lady, Wicked, Rent, Avenue Q
2. Which ones can you sing along with?
A lot of them. My mom and I have gotten season tickets to both of the touring productions in Houston for many years now, so I have seen a ton of them.
3. Which one do you dislike or just don't get what all the fuss is about?
Jesus Christ Superstar. I just don't get it.
4. Is there a musical you can't want to see with LO?
Well, I can't wait to take her to The Nutcracker, but that is of course a ballet. Maybe Annie?
This one you kind of need the cultural/historical background of the time the musical was written to fully appreciate it. The lyrics/music, however, are outstanding and timeless.

Answering my own survey -
1. What's your all-time fave musical?
RENT. This musical was such a huge part of the late 90s for me. I saw it the first time in L.A. with Neil Patrick Harris and "Ricky" from my So Called Life. I saw it in NY. And I saw it over 15 times in Boston, mostly over one summer due to the student deal they had. (Yes, I am crazy.)
2. Which ones can you sing along with?
Well, RENT, duh. Phantom, Annie, Les Miz, Grease, West Side Story, Little Shop of Horrors, Chicago, Dreamgirls, Sweeney Todd, Evita, & Hair.
3. Which one do you dislike or just don't get what all the fuss is about?
I saw Cats once. I will never understand why it was so popular. I just did not get it at all. Same can be said for the musical version of Footloose. Why oh why?
4. Is there a musical you can't want to see with LO?
As a little girl, I wore out my Annie soundtrack record. Aside from RENT, this is my most favorite musical of all time. As a 5 yo, I was supposed to see it with the ORIGINAL Broadway cast (yes, I'm old). I flew out from Cali to NYC to see my relatives. On the day of the show, my grandmother thought the ticket was for her and took my place. (Don't get me started...sob sob). So while I saw it with my mom in L.A. a couple years later, and she made it up to me by taking me to see the 20th anniversary production in NY, I still remember that feeling of being left behind. (Can you hear the tiniest violin playing the saddest song?) Anyway, I just can't wait to take DD one day, and I hope she loves it as much as me.

I could say Cats, but I still kind of like it even if I don't particularly get it.
4. Is there a musical you can't want to see with LO?
Wicked or Phantom. I sing the songs to her All. The. Time.
S/o Rent:
Seasons of Love is NOT a holiday song. The easy-listening station here in Seattle turns into an all Christmas station sometime around September 20th, and, I swear, every.other.song is Seasons of Love.

It may not be a holiday song but I'll take it over "Christmas Shoes" any day, fo real!
Are you serious?!?!?! That is def. not a holiday song. It's about a year, not one season! 525,600 minutes to be exact!
One day I will find you the Christmas song that is worse than Christmas Shoes. I'm not joking. It's horrific and played all the time here during Christmas. It's called:
"(Livin' in) Seattle's Latte Land"
It's a Christmas song. About coffee. COFFEE.

Yeah, I think for me it was just way overhyped. Then I saw it and was like oh--this is it? However, *ducks rotten tomatoes being thrown at me*, I am not a huge Andrew Lloyed Webber fan. I liked Phantom of the Opera, but I didn't love it. Same with Cats.

I would say about 75% of them.

I've never seen Cats and have no desire to.

We've already taken him to see Hairspray and he LOVED it (I work with a theatre company and they were putting it on). I'd love to take him to any of the Disney ones definitely!

One of the things I love about JCS is its ability to be set in different time periods.
Nursed without dairy, egg, soy, peanut, treenut, fish, shellfish or beef for over a year.
Currently tandem nursing dairy, egg, and shellfish free.
DS born via emergency c/s after 20 hrs of labor. DD successful VBAC!

4. Is there a musical you can't want to see with LO? I'm excited to go see any musical with Ry. Going to the theater with my mom and dad was always one of my favorite things to do. I can't wait until he's old enough to go see some shows!

3. Which one do you dislike or just don't get what all the fuss is about? I don't understand Memphis. The music is good, sure, but there are people who salivate over it. Maybe I need to see it for myself?
4. Is there a musical you can't want to see with LO? I can't want to see everything with LO! My grandfather used to take me to the theatre when I was a kid and I loved it. I hope he will love it too
