My LO is moving and grooving...

My LO is so active.  Don't get me wrong.  There are definitely times when they are more active than others, but they are often just going to town in there.  Saturday night, around 2:30 a.m. I was awakened by a total dance party ... or gymnastics meet - I can't decide which.  It went on for about an hour, and it was truly just going mad in there, kicking, rolling, ect.  I. LOVE. IT.  I don't think I will ever complain about the movement of my baby.  It's such a great feeling.  I can understand now why people say that after the baby is born, they "miss" that feeling.

My SIL "warned" me yesterday that I need to change up that pattern and make LO move more during the day and less in the middle of the night.  She said to make sure I'm doing things to wake LO during the day so that when he/she comes, the schedule is not mixed up.  Is that even possible?

  • I don't really think there's anything you can do to "change up that pattern." The baby is going to sleep when he/she wants to.

Also, I was fairly certain that activity and movement are what lulls the baby to sleep while they're in the womb. So I was told that it's completely fine that they're less active during the day than they are at night. Once you start to relax, there's nothing distracting the baby, so they figure it's the perfect time to do some heavy duty movement.

I know my LO acts like she's auditioning to be a firecracker at night and in the mornings. But as soon as I go to work or start running errands, she's definitely either sleeping or less active.

    Yes Totally agree

  • It sure would be nice if we could be training their sleep patterns while in the womb! I know my LO sleeps while I am working for sure. I think she even likes the white noise of the hairdryer since I use one like 8 times a day, haha! I am just sitting here bumping right now, and she is squirming all over the place! My son had only felt her once, but this past weekend she gained some serious strength, and he was so excited to feel his little sister a bunch of times! I certainly missed this part after he was born, and I know I will this time too, especially knowing she will be my last. Precious moments.

  • me either! im never mad when im kicked out punched or head butted lol...i just laugh and smile. picturing what he looks like and hoping to see it in real life
  • Yeah I don't think you can coach sleep schedules quite yet, BUT I have heard that "playing" with the baby during the day is good stimulation (like poking, tapping, rubbing your belly) from my Hyponobirthing book.
