Kennestone Delivery ?s

I know a bunch of you have delivered at Kennestone, and I have just a couple of questions.

I had my last baby at Northside, and I left with tons of stuff. I just wondered what I can expect at Kennestone. Do you get the mesh panties, squirt bottle, icy pads, and all that FUN stuff?

Just trying to figure out what I need to have at the house.

Also, do you remember if there are visiting hours for young siblings?

I know I should have gone on the tour, but I work there and never got around to going over there before I went out for leave :)

Thanks!

  • Yup.....we left with lots of fun stuff - exactly what you mentioned.  Also extra formula, onesies, diapers, etc.

And yes, my son who was 18 months old at the time, came to visit every day.  It's a great hospital and the Women's Center is wonderful.

  • Kennestone is wonderful! We left with a whole lot of stuff! Enough diapers to last a couple weeks and plenty of all the stuff you mentioned. Plus, thermometer, nose sucker, baby nail files...all kinds of goodies!

  • Oh yes- tons!!!  And if you ask for some extra nose suckers, they will give you those too :-)  And Gavin was in the NICU and those nurses seriously loaded us up so much it was ridiculous.  I mean, it was so much stuff that I felt guilty!  They gave us tons of NB size diapers b/c they said they only use the preemie size most of the time :-(

  • Just delivered there 3 months ago.  Tons of stuff and they will keep bringing you baby stuff so just keep asking (and packing the extras in the bag).  Also, they do have a new visitation policy but siblings were except.  No children under 12 (I didn't find they were very strict about it on the mother/baby unit) except sibilings.  Also, you could only have like 3 visitors in the room while you were in L&D.

When I delivered 3 years ago (and a lot probably has changed since then) They weren't strict on the children policy. My 6 year old Goddaughter visited when I was in labor and right after I delivered. Also,  I had like 10 people in the L&D room almost the entire time up until it was time for me to push at which point, the only people I wanted in the room (just DH) stayed.
