So last time we were not ttc it just happened. I was wondering when I should go off the pill, I want to get pregnant in Dec. and yes I know I may want it to happen in Dec but my body might have other plans. I have yet to start my period and still breast feeding and have been told that it will take longer to get pregnant if I'm still breast feeding. Should I stop the pill in Nov or Dec? If you ttc when did you stop your bc and how long did it take?

    I would stop taking it 2-3 months before and either TTA or use condoms until you're ready to TTC. I stopped BC in December and got pregnant right away but it was ectopic which could be a result of the lingering hormones, which is why I'd recommend giving a a couple months to get it out of your system. Some people stop and get KU just fine right away but better to be safe than sorry, imo. I got pregnant with DS our first cycle trying after the ectopic.

    Wow you got pregnant right away after your ectopic that is great. That is what I was thinking stoping a few months before hand and go from there. I have never looked into the whole ttc before and now that we are going to try I fig I should kind of get an idea what to expect. I'm going on a cruise in Dec and don't want to be pregnant on the cruise I keep saying I want to bring back a suvinear in my tummy lol

    I was on birth control for about 8 years before TTC. I stopped BC, had one period, and got pregnant on the first try. So it can happen right away!

    I went off BC 3 months before TTC, it ended up taking us 10 cycles before we were successful.  At this point I'd love to start TTC for #2 as well but am still BF'ing and haven't had a period.  If it happens great, if not I'll wean at a year and hope to get my period back asap.  GL!

    i got pregnant exactly 3 years after i stopped taking the pill.  we were actively trying for 2 of those years.  but we have fertility issues so dont go by my experience!  if i had to do it again, i would try RIGHT after i stopped taking the pill.

    i still breastfeed but have had one cycle....i'm charting...the whole 9 yards...no time to waste!

    i was on BCP for about 7 years.  stopped at the end of dec and conceived in march.

    With DS, I stopped my pill the end of Feb., got my period on March 1, and had my positive test on Mach 30! When we try for Baby#2, we will do the same thing! I was told you are more fertile as soon as you get off the pill since you body is out of whack when it doesn't get that first dose of the pill! This just worked for my sister-in-law too!

    I was on BC for 13 years (!), stopped at the end of October 2009, and conceived in March, 5 cycles later.
