Bleeding - t&p needed

I'd been having some pink spotting off and on and the dr told me not to worry about it. But this morning I had bright red blood on my underwear and when I went to the bathroom a whole gush came out including a little clotting. I called the dr and they just said to stay off my feet and come in tomorrow (which I was scheduled to do anyway). She said bleeding can be normal and not to worry, but this just does not seem normal at all to me! She said I could go to the ER but that they wouldn't be able to do much for me; I don't really want to spend all day there anyway. I'm wondering if that second spot they saw on the u/s could have been a SCH? What does one look like? And any success stories with bleeding? I'm freaking out.

Oh hon...I am so sorry. It is incredibly scary. But what you describe sounds a lot like my SCH experience. Complete with gush. On the ultrasound, the SCH was a black blob off to one side. I will see if I can PIP it for you to see if it looks similar to what you saw. Are you having any pain or cramping? I know with my SCH bleeding, there was no cramps, just blood/spotting. Hang in there, lady!!! Fingers crossed that baby is just fine!

Ok, here is the PIP of my SCH at 9 weeks... it was pretty small by this point, but you get the idea. It is the small dark semi-circle blob on the left above the left side of the sac. I could easily see a SCH being mistaken for a 2nd gestational sac during an early ultrasound, especially if the SCH was a little larger and/or just slightly smaller than the gestational sac at the time of the ultrasound. wishing you all the best, hon!

(((HUGS))) I did not have an SCH but I did have unexplained bleeding. I spotted pinkish, and brown off/on through 10/11 weeks. Around 5/6 weeks I had little clots, blood in toilet and liner. I was told to drink and stay off my feet and went in next morning to find everything was ok. It is so so scary and so many girls on the board have experienced some form of it. Try not to worry ( I know, impossible) and drink tons of fluids and take it easy today. Sorry for block text, I'm on my phone.

I'm so sorry you're having this experience. I had a SCH as well and it looked a lot like what you're describing. I remember thinking that there was absolutely no way this could be ok. I couldn't comprehend that there could be that amount of bleeding and still a thriving baby in there. But there was and it worked out. I know it's so hard but hang in there, don't give up. I bled my entire first trimester. At times it was just a little when I wiped, other times it was a gush while standing or moving around. Never found out what it was, my docs always said "some women just bleed"...and baby was always ok, so I just dealt with it. As soon as I got to 2nd tri, the bleeding stopped and stayed away, and here I am one day shy of 39 weeks with a healthy baby girl still growing away in my ute!

Even if it doesn't turn out to be an SCH it can still be normal. I had a bunch of scary heavyish bleeding starting around 10 weeks. It was one gush and then I stayed off my feet and drank a bunch of water and went away only to return the next week. I was terrified. But every check of the dildo cam showed a perfect little bean hanging tight. I really really hope your bleeding stops so you have less to worry about. (((HUGS)))

I started bleeding an hour after my beta call-back. It ended up being a SCH and ranged between pink spotting to bright red gushing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Sounds like it could definitely be an SCH....one morning I woke up and had bleeding(first of many episodes) and was convinced it was over, but it was an SCH..took a while to resolve all worked out in the end I hope it's an SCH for you...many, many women on this board have had bleeding and everything was fine.

I'm so sorry that you are having bleeding. Scary for sure but bleeding is and can be common in early pg. Praying that everything is ok with your little bean!

I do think when I had my SCH, it looked like a much, much smaller but empty sac. I never had any bleeding with mine so I can't comment on the bleeding part.

I had a small SCH in the first tri that resolved on its' own, but on the ultrasounds, it looked like a small black speck - very similiar to the first u/s I had, but without anything in it, if that makes sense. GL! I hope you get great news at the doc tomorrow!

I had pink and brown spotting around week 6 and then bright red at week 7. Everything turned out for me, and I hope it will for you. They never found anything completely conclusive to explain my bleeding. Thought it might have been an SCH or a sensitive cervix. Thinking of you, sweetie!
