...cause then I would EBF my daughter until she went to college. Seriously. Since we started solids with oatmeal 4 days ago, her sleep has regressed drastically. Instead of sleeping 11 hours ad waking 2x, she now had a 10 hour "window" and wakes every.single.hour. No exaggerations there. She is completely capable of self-soothing between sleep cycles, as she's done it for months now. I think her tummy must really be hurting her. Has anyone else had this happen? How long does it last? When will she sleep again? We've both got circles and bags under our eyes drooping to the floor. Ugh. Poor baby.
Re: XP: I wish I knew that solids/oatmeal = no sleep....
we started with oatmeal too because i kept reading stories on here about how it was easier on people's LO's. well it was the exact opposite for us! LO was super cranky and clingy etc etc. i called the dr's office and they suggested stopping the oatmeal for 7-10 days and then trying rice instead. the doctor told me oatmeal is more harsh on babiess than the rice. good luck to you!
Up until recently my daughter was primarily breastfed (we gave her the odd bottle of formula), and we started her on rice and didn't have any problems at all.
Maybe try rice or something else and see if that helps? I heard of some people who skipped the cereal altogether and have had better luck choosing that route.
Good luck, hopefully she'll go back to being a good sleeper!
