Happy Sunday, girls!
I've always had a huge interest in Photography, and I am by NO means a professional, but it is a hobby that I am very passionate about. I recently took some engagement pictures for my cousin...I put together a little slideshow of my pictures for them, so if you want to check it out, click here! (Let me know what you think!)
Teaching definitely keeps me busy, but it's nice to take pictures in the summer! I have about 15 sessions booked for the remainder of this month into September!
What are some of your hobbies?
ETA: 50 posts until Silver! Man...I was hoping to graduate before turning Silver
Re: Talk to me about your hobbies :)
Good morning! I'm also a teacher and like to play around with photography - neat! What do you teach?
I like the slide show
There are some really interesting shots in there (particularly the ones showcasing the ring, like the one where you were on the ground shooting up to the hands, for instance). One small suggestion, be careful of shadows on faces!
What editing program do you use, out of curiosity? I like Lightroom. It's a good alternative to the incredibly expensive Photoshop!
I teach 2nd grade! We go back to school on August 26th - so it's right around the corner!

How cool is that? Have you heard of "Totally Rad"? It has Lightroom presets you can buy...you should check it out!
Thank you...I definitely know what you mean about the shadows on the faces...there were a few shots that were ruined because of that, but they liked them anyway! Haha! I'm still learning
I also use Lightroom!

My 'normal' hobbies include riding/training my horses, creative writing(I've written four 'books') and sewing (I like to make costumes). My not so normal hobby is doing to different nature parks at night with my friends and taking pictures. We went last night to a watershed preserve a the full moon and scattered thunderstorms made for some cool pictures!
I hope you aer KTFU before silver. I had hoped to be one of the annoying newbs who got KU within like 20 posts. Haha...I hope I'm KU before silver as well. GL!
ETA: I love the slide show! I think you are very good and those pics look 100% like ones a professional would take. I love that you included the dog! Super cute!
Anora, that is so awesome that you've written four books! I would love to see some of the pictures you took last night! Could you PIP some? (I'm a picture need if you didn't already figure that out! Haha!)

My hobbies mostly revolve around exercise and outdoor activities: snowboarding (though if I get KTFU, I'll have to take this next season off), distance running, hiking, backpacking, road cycling and camping.
I LOVE your photography! H and I want to get a nice DSLR camera once we have some extra money and learn how to take better photos. H's dad was a photographer, so H has developed a huge interest in photography.

What are Blythe dolls?
Sounds interesting, but I'm embarrassed to say I have never heard of them before!
Chemical Pregnancy
I have never been snowboarding, I feel like I'd end up breaking all my limbs so I admire those that can actually do it! That's awesome!
I hope you get your BFP soon!
I just got my DSLR about a month ago and it has been amazing! I got the Canon Rebel T3i
Thanks for the photo love

Are you a blogger?
Maybe you'd like to start a blog! You can write to many people that way and you can read what others have to say as well
Just a thought!

The storm pics are on my friends camera, but I have a few of the same place during the day. My books aren't published or anything, but they are finished and about 300-400 pages long so I consider them books lol.
ETA: fixed small pic. We also like to dress up in odd clothing and take pictues with my horses. It's a bit weird, I know...lol but it makes for some cool pictures!
I'm a teacher, too. During the summer I bake like crazy. My routine has been to watch Martha Stewart on the Hallmark Channel, and then bake something
.
Over the last ten days or so, I tried my hand at some red velvet cupcakes, buttermilk biscuits, dried cherry scones, and cinnamon waffles.
Once school starts back this week, I probably will not have the energy to bake so much. So, my other hobby is knitting. I knit scarves, mostly, because they're easy. I may try a more complex pattern eventually.
. .
I bake and decorate cookies and cakes. We also recently bought our first house, so we have little projects going almost all the time. I want to make a chalkboard menu thing for our kitchen. DH says I can just buy one, but that's not nearly as fun. We also paint (canvas, not walls). I also have a sort of "cooking bucket list" I'm going to work my way through once it's a little cooler.
ETA: Great slide show
You got some wonderful shots, and I really like some of your angles.

H and I were looking at the Rebel T3i.....glad to hear you like it!
If you're not careful, you can break all your limbs snowboarding ;o). I've been doing it for 12 years though and so far have only broken my wrist once and bruised my tailbone a handful of times. I'm really going to miss it this season if I get my BFP, and H will still get to go because he teaches snowboarding during the winter....but it will totally be worth it!!! I do have one friend that snowboarded until she was 20 weeks pregnant, but I just don't want to take the chance!

I am finding myself baking a lot over this summer as well...must be a teacher thing
I wish I could knit! That's so cool that you can make your own scarves!

BP, that is really cool
I know what you mean about ongoing projects...our house still isn't finished after a year of moving in, but it's getting closer!
That would be really neat in a kitchen! You'll have to let me know if you ever do that!
I love the idea of a chalkboard menu for you kitchen! Have you ever tried chalkboard paint? It's actually what I used in my pictures for the photos with the "She said yes!" and "Future Mr. and Mrs.!" DH painted some hardy board for me with the chalkboard paint - it works GREAT!
Chemical Pregnancy
Wow! 12 years? That's amazing! I can't believe your friend snowboarded until she was 20 weeks pregnant! She must have some serious luck (or maybe she's just that good at snowboarding!) Haha

Yes, that's actually what I planned to use. That's what I meant by DH saying I could just buy one (a chalkboard) but I wanted to make one (with wood and chalkboard paint). I want to frame it in something that will compliment the kitchen. I just haven't come across the right frame yet. We're waiting on custom artwork for our kitchen to be done, and I think once it's delivered, I'll know better what to look for.

Sometimes I feel like my life is one big hobby! I write (but I also have a job writing at a local newspaper) and I farm (but we're trying to make a living doing that). I milk Nigerian Dwarf Goats and I enjoy showing them but I haven't made it to a single dairy goat show this year... that would probably be the most "hobby-esque" part of the farm.
I enjoyed your slideshow and also loved the shots from the ground perspective... looking up at the clasped hands and ring with their heads above. You definitely have a photographer's eye! And by the way, you can lessen the effects of the shadows with editing software -- photoshop of course does the best job but that's really expensive, and iphoto can do it too.
PS -- I also love chalkboard paint. We use it for signs for our farm stand!
Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

Yeah... it is kinda cool to wear a scarf that I actually made
. I made one for DH when we were dating, and I've made one for my sister. I'm working on one for my mom now.

That is awesome! I've never read or watched Julie and Julia, but I just might have to make it a point to!

Thanks! I will definitely have to check into that!

That is so cool that you have goats
DH and I were just at a fair last weekend and I told him I wanted a goat. He wasn't too sold on that idea! Haha!
I'll definitely experiment with lessening shadows!
Thanks for the sweet comments about my pictures! I have Photoshop Lightroom, and I'm still learning how to navigate and use it!

I do have a blog .... but I rarely write in it because I feel like nobody reads it so what's the point! I suppose I should just write just because ... I get on a roll for a while and then I lose steam.
I know what you mean!
What's your blog link? I'll read your blog!:)

Thanks
You're too sweet

I like the slide show! Very good pics!
My hobbies are cooking, baking, cupcake decorating, traveling and I also like taking lots of photos. I mostly do pictures of food for my husbands blog though and my cupcakes. I don't know if I'd call it a "hobby" or not, but I spend a lot of time at the gym so I suppose it's also a hobby.
