Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Iphone or Android?

I am in the process of selecting a touch phone (yeay) and there are so many options on the market that my head is spinning!

Which touch phone applications do you like and/or could not live without?

Are they on Iphone or Android?

Any recommendations?

Re: Iphone or Android?

  • I bought my iPhone in may and love it. I use news apps, pandora, and some toddler apps. Flash cards is a lifesaver in doctors offices and restaurants.

  • I love my iPhone.  TWO of my friends who had Androids both traded them in for iPhones and are much happier.  I use/couldn't live without: facebook, Words with Friends, and Accuweather.

Those are the main ones I use constantly along with Safari (internet browser), Maps, and eMail, all standard with the phone.

    Good luck!

  • I just got a Droid X2 and so far I love it.  It has a faster processor than the iPhone and the screen is huge - a plus if you're going to be using it with a toddler.

  • I have an iPhone because it was free. Not a huge app person, but I'm slightly obsessed with FB from my phone, flashcards and games for DD in the waiting rooms, and definitely pandora (although it kills your battery if you forget to log out)

  • I LOVE my iPhone...it's amazing. I would love to keep it forever...The apps I have, I'm pretty sure you can get most of them on an Android phone...I've never used an Android, but my friend  has one, and she likes it.

  • I have an android, HTC Evo. Love it. And from people I've spoken to who have iPhones, the androids are cheaper since i don't have to pay for every app. I have a ton of apps, many the same as the i phone has and i've never had to pay for one.

The amazon app store has a new app everyday for free that you normally have to pay for. I'm not sure if you can get the amazon app on iphone.

  • I love my Android! But, really, head to the store and play with both and see which OS is more intuitive for you.

  • I have an iphone but my main motivator is that we're an apple family- macbooks, ipad, apple tv, 2 iphones...I like that they all work the same way & work together seamlessly. If you have a PC at home, then I would definitely go play around with them- pretend you're in the car making a phone call, see how you send a text, use the browser, play with the keypad, etc.... see which feels more intuitive to you.

At my work, all hte IT guys have iphones & several had droids before that. That helped solidify my decision.
