Not official blackout shades, but we have pulldown shades and dark curtains in DS's room. They seem to work better in the early morning than during naps, though, since I always had him napping out in the living room during the day when he was a newborn.
We have them and they've definetely helped in the early morning hours. Naps, I usually don't bother with them because I know the babysitter won't have them.

Nope. Just a cellular shade and then a light set of curtains. The room is still bright-ish. But she takes usually around a 3-hour nap in there every afternoon with no issues.
