Oh man, my doctor is the best. I walked in there with a million questions and ridiculous anxiety and he made me feel so much better.
It was a pre-prenatal appointment so I was really just there to ask questions. I have my first actual prenatal appointment August 30th
Anxiety meds (Ativan, at least) is a "no" during pregnancy. I remember I said I would ask about it in another thread. Thankfully I have been able to manage my anxiety without it but it's good know know just in case.
I was prescribed Diclectin for morning sickness -- I don't have any morning sickness yet, but I am going to be away for 2 weeks so who knows when it might start, and I don't want to be out of the country and stuck with nothing.
I told him I am spazzing about blood pressure (I don't HAVE high bp, but I am overweight). He told me that there is no way to know if I will develop it so it is not something to worry about right now. I had him take my blood pressure just to make me feel better and it was totally normal.
And they made me PIAC. I had already tested this morning and I have been drinking a ton of water so I was worried it would be too diluted but they told me their test came out positive, too. Which made me feel better about not having symptoms besides one day of sore breasts.
...I'll probably still test at least twice between now and my first real appointment. LOL.
Re: Back from the doctor :)
glad it went well for you. I have my first appointment next friday, I'm guessing it's a sort of initial appointment because I'll only be 5 weeks then.
I don't want to tell our parents until after that appointment. I know it won't be more than just a PIAC but I guess it will make me feel a bit more better lol.
Yeah, it did make me feel better to talk to him especially because I don't have symptoms so I don't feel pregnant. He talked to me all about miscarriages and told me that a lack of symptoms this early is nothing to worry about. He said that many people wait until at least 8 weeks to tell people, but we've already told my family and will tell DH's family when we see them this week.
Good luck at your appointment! I went armed with a whole list of questions. haha.
I think that I will end up with a list of things to ask as well. I've done a lot of research but I'd love to hear what my Dr personally has to say. I have symptoms but they are more like period cramps and a dull achey feeling in my lower abdomen. Hopefully it is nothing wrong.
