Boy Names That Can Be Written in Japanese Kanji and Easily Pronounced in English?

I am looking for unique and creative ideas for Japanese boy names that would be EASILY pronounced in English.  I don't want the name to be so off the wall that it is weird, or just unique sounding and easily butchered in English.

Some ideas that I have so far...

Ryden

Ren

Kota

I would appreciate any help!

  • I don't know anything about Kanji characters, but my BIL and his wife are expecting a boy in Dec, and have the same requirements as you. Here are the names they have been tossing around:

    Aiki

    Eiji

    Keiji

    Kenji

    Masao

Ichiro (it is their first son)

    Naoya

Tomoya (possible nn Tomo, NOT Tom)

And based on what I heard Ren is among the most popular boy names in Japan right now, not sure if that would bother you if you are there often.

  • Kenji (probably your best bet)
    Yuya
    Yuta (pronounced like Utah)
    Taiki
    Ryu
  • In spite of this guy, I love the name Yoshi

  • I'm assuming you know kanji, so I won't write them in Japanese too.

But, please please please don't do Ryden (Raiden). Mortal Kombat is still a famous game and the meaning is not something that is especially cool.

I personally adore Ren and Kota.

I also love Kenji like PPs mentioned. Yoshi is nice too. (And most people know how to say it too.)

Other names that are easily pronounced are:

    Jun

    Jin

    Joji

    Yuji

    Rei

My host parents just named their son Jiei (Jay) which is nice, and also have a son named Taiga (Tiger).

    HTH!
