Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas
I have read that Scripps La Jolla is great but what about Encinitas?
So far I have loved going to Scripps. I love my regular doctor and I love my OB doctor.
Also when is everyone signing up for the hospital tour and birthing class? I am 19 weeks and there are classes starting next month ad I was thinking of registering for them but then I'm afraid that it will be to much time before the baby comes and I'll forget everything. Just wanted to get an idea of what everyone plans are. TIA

I delivered at La Jolla, however I do know someone who delivered at Encinitas and it as a positive delivery. The main reason I opted for La Jolla for my deliver was the fact they provide you with your own room post delivery, which was super important to me because I'm a very private person. Encinitas cannot make this guarantee and the girl I knew who delivered there did have to share her room on her final day.
As far as classes go, I wasn't able to even sign up for many of the classes until I was only 2 months away because they want it all being fresh for delivery. Now with that being said, I found the classes to be a complete waste of time and money. Maybe I'm just not a birthing class person, but I don't know it seemed like all we ever did was watch videos from the 90s and then practice breathing techniques (which I didn't even use).
I'm torn between the two of them, also, but leaning toward La Jolla because of the room issue. Who's the OB you love at Scripps? I'm looking for one (not crazy for the ob-gyn I was seeing before pregnancy, so I want to change). Thanks!
