  I've been trying to find the gas, milk and egg prices for over 2 years because I never did it when K was born. 

   

  I'm hoping someone else knows of something!

  For milk and gas prices, you could use data from the bureau of labor statistics that is used to get at the CPI.

  Here is a lookup tool for it: https://data.bls.gov/pdq/querytool.jsp?survey=ap

   For news, you can order back issues of newspapers:

  Last 30 days from the Star Tribune: https://www.startribunecompany.com/189

  Last 90 days of NY Times: https://www.nytimes.com/ref/membercenter/help/backcopies.html

  that doesn't have anything newer than mid 80's from what I can find...and no milk or egg prices, just gas.

  It does, you just have to make sure you are using the right variables.

  For milk, use the "Milk, fresh, whole, fortified, per gal.". It goes up to July 2011.

  For eggs, use "Eggs, grade A, large, per doz" - it goes through June 2011.

  oh. you can only look up national prices, not local. That was my problem.

  Have any old receipts? I'm terrible about throwing them away so I might be able to dig up some from 3 years ago, lol
