Parenting after 35

first time flying solo with 2 under 2

My hubby has a job interview and is leaving me alone with both kids for the first time.

My daughter is napping.. kind of afraid for when she wakes... not just because she's so active.. I have to do go up a flight of stairs and somehow get her out of her crib (I had a csection 10 days ago and am not supposed to lift her and I think I'm not supposed to do stairs).. AGGH... My hubby set up a step stool for her to sort of climb out of her crib.. probably not a good idea to be teaching her HOW to climb out of her crib.. but I'm not supposed to lift her!!!  She weighs close to 30 lbs and seemed to "fill out" when I was in the hospital last week.... How'd she get so big??

As for my newborn son .. darn good sleeper.. ::knocks on wood::.....have to WAKE him to feed him sometimes. Hoping this continues for a while... wish I could nap while they're both asleep.. but have to fold the mountains of laundry piling up....

When they wake up....I'm hoping to take our new double stroller (City Select) out for a spin... sick of being stuck inside.. want some fresh air!!!

  • Take it easy. Don't overdo it. Try to at least nap part of the time. You may not get another chance.

  • Take it easy and you will be fine. He will be home before you know it :-)

  • Stop!!! Move away from the laundry pile.  It will still be there when he gets back.  It is enough to take care of two babies and yourself after MAJOR surgery.  Keeping everyone clean and fed is enough.

  • Try not to overstress yourself. Is it possible to hire help, at least temporarily?

  • Thanks.. all...

You'll be happy to know....the laundry is still not folded !!!  .. BUT we had an awesome walk and my daughter played in our backyard for 2 hours when we got home.  I feel so guilty she's been cooped up with me, too.  It took FOREVER to get out of the house... Now.. everybody is sleeping.. think I'll now join them..  :)

I am glad that you all realize that most of the time I am right.  Now, if I can convince DH of that, my life would be much easier.  Wink
