Hi everyone! I know Friday isn't such a great day to ask this but I'm asking anyway. Does anyone have any tips for ways to get our EBF baby to take the bottle from H? We've gotten to the point where he will take the bottle from me (unless he's super worked up, then he won't) but we still can't get him to take a bottle from H, even if I'm not here.
Any tips?
I will be going back to work next month and H will have him when I'm gone. We're trying to get him to take a bottle from H now to save ourselves when I go back.
TIA!
Re: EBF to bottle help...
We went through this. At first, E took a bottle just fine from anyone, then 5 days before I went back to work, she stopped! Stressful.
We ended up trying a bunch of different bottles (we tried Avent, Breastflow and Dr. Brown and use Dr. Browns) and different nipples. We eventually figured out we were better off with a faster flow (Level 2) nipple bc I have a fast letdown so she wasn't getting as much from the bottle.
Has DH tried to hold a shirt or something that has your scent?
Ultimately, I'm not going to lie, it was really stressful when I went back to work because she wasn't taking a bottle very well, she would eat 1 oz and then stop. I knew she was getting something so felt OK. Eventually she figured it out.

I didn't even think about the fast let down! Maybe the level 2 nips will help us. I have some already so I'll try those this weekend. I also didn't think of having him hold something with my scent. Thank you, this is all really helpful!
I didn't have this issue with Natalie but with Ryan I did. A couple of the things that we tried: feeding before he was super hungry, having DH walk with him rather than just sitting (he was at the age where he liked to look around anyway), have DH hold him facing out rather than holding him in a "nursing pose", and then bouncing on the ball while watching tv. (I know - babies are supposed to watch tv but the distraction was enough for him to actually take the bottle).
Good luck - I know we had it a little easier than most.
