Waterslides with 15 month old advise

Ok so we are going for a family gtg at a waterside park in Clovis. So we will have a table with shade. I am planning on taking the PnP for her nap in and maybe just for her to play in some. We will be there all day. I am worried about it being hot and her possibly getting really unhappy. If we must we will leave early. However I would rather not.

  • Is it this weekend? The heat index is high 90s for Clovis, which I would think is too hot for her all day. I would likely go for the most important part of the day, but since you really want to go all day then I would take something to shade her with, plus one of those hand held fans that squirts water/mist, and slather on the sunscreen even if she spends the day in the shade.

  • Is this wild water adventure park? They have a kiddo area that you could probably wade in with her?

  • Yes it is wild water adventures! It is very much shady and grassy like a park. We even sprung for a reserved shady table. We plan to get her in the water a's much as possible. We are going early so we can enjoy the cooler part of day and will most likely leave by 2 ish. But if she and we can take it we will stay a's long as we can.

  • We went camping with Andrew when he was 7 months old and one day it was 104 Surprise.  We had those squirt bottle/fan things that A mentioned and I literally sat his entire nap and held it up to him and repeated squirted him.  I also had frozen some wash cloths and since they defrosted really quickly ( put them in little baggies and they'll be nice by the time you need them if you do multiple) we could lay them down on him, or even lay him down on them.

You could even get a clip fan for her pack and play so you can just clip it on the side to help keep her cool while she's sleeping.  Other than sleeping I'd say the biggest thing is just keeping her hydrated since you'll have the water and the shade.  If she doesn't drink a lot of water I would go for anything that she'll drink, juice, lemonade, gatorade ect.

  • Great ideas! I am getting so happy and excited now that we are going. All but one of the my side cousins will be there. Lots of fun!

Oh I think till 2 she would make it easy peasy! Maybe even longer, when you said all day I was thinking till 6 or 7pm and while she might make it that long I think it could be pushing it.

  • Kitty love : we will stay until 9 for fireworks if she naps. I don't think she will though. She also is a crazy water baby. I need to keep reminding myself that she will live it. I will let you all know how it goes.
