Pencil test - accurate predictor of gender?

I'm 10 weeks prego with baby number 2 (yay!) and cannot wait to find out what we're having. So I did the pencil test and it said TWINS (girl and boy)! Have any of you done this test? How accurate is it? 

We haven't heard the heartbeat (or heartbeats!) yet...we'll go to the doctor again in about a week.

    Yes, absolutely. It's 100% accurate. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother going to the doctor now. Just get all of your medical advice from a writing utensil. I've heard that the mechanical pencils can even help with delivery.

    We are not actually sure how it scientifically works but we believe that because everything is planned by God, he gave us this little tool to determine the gender of a child. The pencil pregnancy test even predicts miscarriages and abortions. God has a plan whether you like it or not. 

    Hallelujah! Thank goodness for pencils or else none of us would ever know god's plan!!!

    it's probably just as accurate as the needle and thread test, or the iPhone app.

    It's pretty much a 50/50 shot at being right., but you know what they say about a broken clock...

    Aside from all the snark...

    My family does this test for fun with every single one of our pregnancies.  I've never kept track of the accuracy.  All those test are fun, but JUST for fun.

     Please don't put all your faith into a pencil, ring, etc...

    I'm sorry that people are being so mean!

     

    I've never heard of the pencil test, but I have done the ring on a string over the tummy and in my palm.  Both said girl.  We'll find out soon!

    Everyone knows that these tests are not scientific or necessarily accurate. It's simply a fun way to go through the process and ease some of your curiosity until the real tests come.

    You all need to lighten up.

    It's no wonder there are kids bullying other kids day in and day out - they learned that behaviour from their parents. So, agreed, some people shouldn't be allowed to procreate, but I'm more concerned about the hateful people than the ones who are curious about old wives tales.

    I know this is a old post, but here is my opinion. So yeah the pencil test probably isn't accurate. Other people claim that it is, and if it's not then who cares!!!!! If it helps someone like one of the previous lady's stated how it may ease some of the curiosity. Then why rain on their parade? Or maybe just maybe some people might just think its down right fun! You people should be a shamed! Your nothing but a bunch of fun sucking ass holes who need to grow up! I did the pencil test also does that mean I'm a moron???? No, I done it for a few reasons. One being because its fun. The second is because my husband and I have been trying for years. We have been told we neither one are able to have kids. Do any of you Debbie downers even know how that feels???? Well just imagine your in a room and the air is slowly slipping out. First your in shock then you start thinking...there is a way out I just know it!!! Then panic sets in because your alone and no one can help you. No one on the other side can open the door because they can't understand. That's what it feels like to us!!! So if some little stupid test makes me feel better or gives me hope to escape that room then so be it!!! Don't be mean or try to break someone's spirit. You never know someone's true journey in life or the hurdles they have to cross.

    Um, I'm sorry you had a hard time getting pregnant, but why bump a two year old post to yell at strangers who are likely never going to read this?

    And from what I read, they didn't call her an idiot for taking the test, but for thinking that it was at all accurate.

    Agree. People are crying meaniehead for no reason. Also the crazy cray cray is quite evident in this post. People need to calm down about bullying on TB. Nothing in this post comes even close to bullying.

    Yes I know exactly what it feels like. I don't want to hear about how hard your road has been as some sort of justification for agreeing with stupidity. Sorry you've had a hard time...I do sympathize. But it's no excuse for encouraging ridiculous behavior. I've had it pretty damn bad myself, so don't try to use your misfortune for righteous indignation. Give me a break.
    And I know you'll say something about this, but seriously, it's "you're". And it's "ladies" not "lady's". And "ashamed" is one word.
