Here's today's latest ... this roller coaster is nuts!
Short Version... WE HAVE A HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!!! It's still precarious but for today we have a heartbeat.
Long
Version: We go in, he scans, nothing looks great. Small sac, very
hard to measure the yolk sac, doesn't appear any bigger, etc, etc.
Stops the scan, adjusts the probe, tries again, still not a clear view.
So we have the discussion about a D&C. Where I'll have it done,
etc. We discussed doing chromosome testing so we know what happened and
if it's likely to happen again. I asked about my frozen babes and if
it was going to happen with them too. (He says not likely but there's a
20-30% chance every time) He explains that he won't do a D&C without
scanning one more time (at the time of D&C) but that he just really
doesn't feel it's viable. Then he decides to scan once more with a TON
of gel and he had me push down on my belly button as hard as I could.
That's when he said "hold off on everything I just said. We have a
fetal pole and a heart beat!"
I'm still measuring behind and
he's still not super optimistic as he said most of these still don't end
well but as long as we have a heartbeat we aren't doing anything.
So
I'm in limbo for another week, but for today I'm pregnant and baby has a
heartbeat. Heartbeat was hard to measure because of the method we were
using but it's there.
I'm just wondering if me being plus size has anything to do with it all ...

I haven't even finished reading the whole thing yet, but I am jumping out of my chair for you. I am so so very happy for you. Now I'll continue reading the rest, but you have a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!!
edit: So now that I've finished the rest of it :-) You will be in my t&p's that this baby sticks for good. But with all the crappy news, this is great and cherish every moment of it. I hope your baby gets stronger everyday. Congrats on the heartbeat!

That is amazing!!! what a roller coaster you have been on... I can't imagine how you are staying so strong through all of this!
Praying your little fighter keeps on fighting and defying the odds!!!!
Because we're fancy like that.
I have been thinking about you and stalking for updates so no we are not tired of your updates!!
As for the heart beat!! WOO HOO... I know this is an emotional rollacoaster and I'm praying for you! I hope this all turns out well.
As for being plus sized... your size has nothing to do with anything!! My re said that you could have an implantation up in the far corner of your uterus making it harder to see. I was high risk for mults. and after we looked at the baby he moved that dilo cam in some crazy places and also pushed on my belly to make sure no one was hiding. So you little guy was just hiding!!
KEEP US UPDATED!!! Lots of T&P!!!

Def. not tired of hearing your updates! That is awesome news! Hoping that everything continues to go well for your little bean!
I'm not sure about the plus size thing. I'd think with a transvaginal u/s, it wouldn't matter too much about your size. I'm a little overweight and I never had an issue with seeing things with transvag u/s. Now when we had our u/s on Monday with MFM at 11w5d, they initially tried to transabd u/s but she couldn't see as well as she would have liked. Then she did transvag. I have a bit of a muffin top and so I think it the extra adipose tissue made if difficult for the tech to see some of baby's anatomy this early in the game.
Good luck! Praying that your little bean is a fighter!
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Congrats on the heartbeat!
I am wondering why they didn't just do a transvaginal u/s? It's a little early for a transabdominal u/s, isn't it? I didn't get my first transabdominal until 10 weeks.
