One thing I don't like about being pregnant is that you have to be careful with lifting or moving things. Because you know you are physically able to do it, but you shouldn't. I finally scored a babysitter for my 2 year old so I can get into my classroom today. I just heard from a co-worker that all the students desks are piled up on top of each other in the center of the room. This is usually the case after summer cleaning. But the problem is I have not told anyone at work that I am pregnant and I don't plan on telling until end of Sept. I know I am going to go in and lift and move these desks today. I just have to. I only have this one day to set up my room. Please tell me its ok... By the way, they are 3rd grade desks. So not too big, I guess.
Re: moving desks?
I'm a teacher as well and I think the desks are small enough that if you move them one at a time, and take breaks when you feel the need, you will be just fine.
Now, if you have to move a filing cabinet or mini-friedge or something extra heavy, I would probably tell the head plant operator so someone from his staff can come in and move it for you. That's my plan, at least. HTH!
I teach third too, I think you'll be fine. Really the desk aren't all that heavy empty, just awkward. Normally ours are stacked and I plan on moving mine around when I go in (probably another week before I force myself to go in- we start in Sept.)
For most things if you could do it prepreg., you can do it preg. No sense living in a bubble (imo).
