So, they are "trifty" (read: cheap). But they are doing WEIRD stuff here. The weirdest? They are sharing a bath towel and only running the water for a shower for 2 minutes each. Weird weird weird.
My poor H. His whole perception of his parents has changed. I told him the towel thing and he just shook his head. They each have their own towels at home.
ETA: one more weirdness. They go to the bathroom together.
I told H no matter how long we were married, I would always want my own towel and wouldn't let him hang out with me when I used the bathroom.
Re: IL weirdness continues...this is a funny one
No, they are fine financially. They gave us a sizeable amount of $ before Gabe was born. They just don't want to "impose". They are weird about it. But, H said he has never seen them this extreme. They don't want to add to our laundry or our water bill. WTF!!!
With guests I gladly give them fresh towels daily and never question their bathing and laundry habits. Well, until now at least. I do question not using their own towel and not taking a full shower. LOL!
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

Do you ever watch "How I Met Your Mother?" Lily & her-TV-husband-what's-his-face have a bathroom pact - I love that episode & DH & I have the same rule.
Ehhhh, they might be doing all of that because they care so much and don't want to add to the bills esp with your job situation. I'm sure that's been a big topic of conversation. I'm the sort of nut who would take wicked short showers and by hyper aware of what I was using if I were a guest in your home. I don't know that I would time my shower, but it would be lightning quick
I kind of agree here. I wonder if all the conversations about them imposing, separating time and space, etc have added to their already strange behavior. Maybe they are trying to avoid feeling like they have imposed on you since that has been a hot spot for everyone during this visit?
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
