Make me not interested in them at all. And that's a bad thing. Like this woman I know that cannot form a sentence without mentioning God or Jesus or Christianity in general. Seriously, if you ask how she is doing her response is "God has blessed me on this day." I have never once heard her say good, great, not so good, tired, bored, I just took a massive dump and now I feel much better...nothing but "God has blessed me on this day."
I can't figure out if she is sincere in this or one of those that just likes to make sure that her faith punctuates everything she says. But everytime I have a conversation with her (even though I'd like to believe in God) it pushes me away from the church just a little more. I think it's because to me when that's all you talk about and you use God's name for everything, it comes off as completely insincere.
ETA: It's not just that situation, that's just the one that made me realize that. My sister and dad run a lot for exercise and I was forced to run with them in junior high and high school, so I have a love/hate relationship with running and when I am running for exercise (on a regular basis) I don't mention it to them because then that would be all they'd want to talk about, they'd ask about my running constantly, they'd want to watch me run to make sure I'm doing it right, they'd want to tell me their differing opinions on whether I should be wearing a New Balance or Asics(sp?) shoe. Etc...

Flame me if you will, but I feel this way about lactivists.
I'm all for BFing (and what a stupid statement that even is, of course I'm for it. Feed your kid however you want.) But when people get insanely preachy and smug about it, I start to really side-eye and wonder what is lacking in their lives that they have to fixate so strongly on this one area of parenting.
It's just breastfeeding. It's great. I'm glad it's working for you and is a positive experience. Calm the hell down.

Because I said "dumb" instead of "dump?" I'm glad you knew what I meant... You did know what I meant, right?

Totally agree. Yeah I am lucky that BFing has worked out for us, and yeah it's the "best" thing for DS...but I was a FF baby and I turned out just fine. To be honest, I am just glad DS is getting a full stomach.
