Getting my IUD today was unpleasant but bearable.  Sitting in the waiting room for an hour past my appointment because the doctor was running behind made me furious and I was crying in the waiting room and during the procedure out of anger and stress.  Damn hormones  Embarrassed

    Did your doctor measure you! That was my drama. As long as you weren't curled into the fetal position, sweating and unable to walk for 20 minutes, I'm sure EVERYTHING went fine. Check for your strings tomorrow, if you can't find them ask for an earlier visit like next week or the week after.

    I have been spotting/bleeding ever since I got my IUD put in and its starting to get a little annoying.

    I did for almost 5 weeks after - its just stopped. I have to get my strings cut because dh can feel them...

    Lame! I am sorry you were in tears.

    I spotted after mine for a little over a week. My MW also kept my strings really long (like at times I can feel them poke outside my vagina), at first I was going to ask her to cut them, but decided to wait and see if DH could feel them. Maybe keeping them real long is key? DH says he feels nothing.

    DH can feel them but not to where it bothers him, I had mine put in on the 25th of July so hopefully any day now this crap will let up, this is why I got off of depo and went back to the pill before!

    What IUD did you get?

    I got Mirena on July 18th and have been bleeding since. My Dr said I would "spot" off and on for the last 3 months but it hasn't let up enough for us to even have sex. I'm not complaining, but how am I suppose to know if the strings need to be trimmed if we're not gettin' it on? Ugh...

    I got the Mirena.  The insertion was painful, but was fine afterwards.  I haven't checked for the strings yet.  I've had spotting since I got it, but nothing much.  I still haven't gotten AF but was cramping the day I got the IUD, so I half expected it, but nothing yet.
