It's been pretty hot everywhere this summer. Could it be that your *ahem* "area" is constantly damp? If so, try a talcum with a drying agent like corn starch and breathable panties.
Take acidophilus - it's the "good" bacteria you need down there. It's in some yogurt, but doesn't have the same concentration you need. You should find it at any health food store.
If you took antibiotics (or are taking) that can make you more prone to yeast infections.
I used to get a ton of UTIs and yeast infections. It sucked! I recommended acidophilus supplements, drink lots of water, and wear cotton panties all the time. It also helps if you don't wear any panties to bed so everything can air out. Also, make sure your pants aren't too tight especially if you are wearing jeans a lot. They can trap moisture and make you all hot and sweaty (and not in a good way ) which is the exact breeding ground for yeast. Other than that, either try an over the counter remedy or go to your doc. Keep in mind that antibiotics can cause yeast infections. So if you have been taking a lot of them, then you know where they are coming from. GL!
Two words: gentian violet. I had this problem for about a year. I was ready to throw myself off a bridge and my OB said "this is kind of an old fashioned remedy but it works really well for some people." Basically, get some gentian violet from the pharmacy (it's over the counter but you have to ask the pharmacist for it) and then get your OB to "paint" all over your vagina, inside and out. Wear a maxi pad the first day and then black panties for the next day or so (it stains big time) and use an old towel when you dry off after a shower. Your skin will be stained purple for a few days but it's worth it IMO. I have not had a bad one since I got that treatment and that was several years ago (like 8 or 9 now that I think about it). Good luck.
Have your husband tested for them. Men can get them and they can lay dormant for a LONG time and just keep passing it back to you. Also have heard that the GV stuff that pp mentioned is awesome! GL!
Re: TMI * reoccuring yeast infections
could you be pregnant? happened to me with LO #1...
if not, eat yogurt daily and get a RX for Diflucan.
knock on wood... Haven't had one in YEARS.. but diflucan always cleared me up with the quickness!
Sorry for you. YI SUCK!!!!!!!!
