s/o clothing... underwear

Where do you get your underwear?  I like cotton ones that cover, but the briefs from any manufacturer are too high.  I was happy with the ones from Lane Bryant, but thanks to Weight Watchers, those are getting too big.

ETA - just talking about regular ones, not maternity.

Re: s/o clothing... underwear

  • do you mean maternity underwear? I am a thong girl and since most of mine are low rise, I didn't need any new undies when I was pg. I get most of mine from Victoria Secret, I really like these: https://www.victoriassecret.com/panties/the-lacie-panties-3-for-30

The wide lace sides are really comfortable (in the panties and the thongs) and are pretty invisible under clothes.

I loooove the lace top cotton undies from VS. I've worn them before, during and after pregnancy.

  • I used to only wear VS cotton bikinis, but lately the quality has really gone down.  I don't know how many pairs have pulled a hole in them the first time I put them on.  My 10 year old VS bikinis are in better shape than my brand new ones.

For pregnancy, I tried just going up 1 size in VS bikinis but they are still pretty tight around the top of my legs.  I bought 5 pair of cotton bikinis from Pea In the Pod and they are very comfortable.

  • I can't believe I am sharing my fondness for granny panties but both Hanes Her Way and Jockey in the Bikini style are my daily choices.  I wore one size up for pregnancy.

  • good golly, no, sorry.  Not maternity undies, just regular ones.

I had the same experience with VS - the  quality seemed really shoddy when I got them about 4 years ago, so I decided not to buy them anymore.  I'm glad I'm not the only one with that experience.

  • I'm a Hanes Her Way girl. They seem to last pretty long. Unfortunately, they aren't very sexy. My thongs are in a drawer that hasn't been touched in over a year.

  • Yes, I keep commenting on how my VS lace-top panties are the only ones that make me feel cute now that I'm in month 5! I love how the v-top fits perfectly under my bump!

Too bad my butt is getting a little bigger and now I get some nice wedgie action if I'm wearing them with a skirt. Sad

I've been thinking the same thing. I think they're shaped differently, too - a higher rise but smaller in the butt. I've actually laid a new pair over and old one and they're not the same shape (or at least, that's what I tell myself so I don't have to come to terms with the fact that my butt might be bigger. That can't be it).

  • Hanky Panky thongs. I actually wore them throughout my pregnancy until I went on bedrest. I just bought a few new pairs during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. They are the best.

I also love the Gilligan O'Malley hipsters at Target. Very comfy.

I have heard raves about Soma underwear, and am planning to order some.

  • the Soma stuff is awesome. I got rid of all my other bras. I like their thongs too but always order the size smaller than I would normally wear. They have 15% off everything right now with code 15288.

    Hanky Panky is great too!
