Pregnant after IF

Pubic pain when rotating sides in bed?

I have an appt on Monday so I plan on asking the doc but thought I'd see if anyone else has dealt with this.

For the past week or so, anytime I rotate/roll from one side to the other while in bed, I get a really bad pain in my groin/pubic area. It's like someone kicked me there really hard each time. Some days, it's so bad that the pain lingers into the day (ex: today) and it hurts to walk too much. I sleep with a U shaped pregnancy pillow and keep it between my knees at all times, except when I rotate. Is my pelvic bones becoming misaligned just in those couple of seconds? Is this just another version of RLP?

Is there anything you do to help it or is it just one of the many wonderful things that just comes with the territory?

  • I haven't found anything that stops it. I just chalk it up to everything being nice and lose down there and shifting when moving.

  • I had that with my first pg and I started going to a chiropractor & it would help tremendously for about a week then it would start to flare up again.  Needless to say; I made many visits to the chiro and I plan to with this one too if I start getting those pains - they're bad!

  • After our 12-hr car trip, I noticed I was having these pains any time I tried to roll over, lift my leg up (to get into a high car, for instance), or just plain walking (esp. uphill).  It went away after we got home, but it's starting up again.  I'm thinking it's just those bones loosening.  Not a pleasant feeling.

  • Mine started at 20 weeks, exactly how you described it. It feels like someone kicked me in the crotch with steel toed boots. My doc told me it's completely normal. Some days it's worse than others (today would be one of the worse days!)

  • I've had this same exact thing for the last 2-3 weeks. I saw my Dr this week and told her and she said its normal. She said with the added pressure, everything gets a little swollen (including ligaments) and they become very sensitive (including vagina, labias, etc).

I feel it at night in bed the most and during the day if I sit too long when I stand my groin area is really sore.

  • I think it's "just one of those things" about pregnancy. I feel that pain when I switch sides in bed, when I get in and out of bed to pee 5 million times per night, and when I get up from sitting for a while. Also when I start walking, it hurts for the first couple minutes, but then things feel better after a bit of walking. I've had this pain for several weeks now, and I figured it was just my body getting ready for baby to come out, combined with baby moving lower...

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one, although it sucks that so many of us are dealing with it. I just wish there was something that could ease it.
