XP: Water breaking experiences?

Hi ladies, I figured I'd post this here.  My doctor's office opens in an hour and I will call them with questions at that point.

Last night, I got severe contractions, but they were always about an hour apart; so, obviously not timeable.  At one point after a contraction, I went to the bathroom and noticed some clear watery discharge slightly tinged with pink.  I put in a liner and went back to bed.

This morning I woke up and when I stood and pulled down my panties, some of said discharge/fluid fell to the ground.  It again was clearish with a pink tinge.  The consistency of the fluid isn't like water, but a bit more slippery (if that makes sense?).

What did you water breaking look like?  Is it literally like water or is there a consistency to it?  Again, I plan on calling my doctor's office shortly, but was looking for personal water breaking experiences.

    I was lurking, but thought I would answer.

    That sounds more like your mucus plug or bloody show (or both).  When my waters broke it felt like a small gush...and then another small gush.  It took me a couple of minutes before I realized it was my wanters and that I was not peeing.

    You could try wearing a pad, lay down for a few minutes and then get up and see what happens.  

    Either way it sounds good.  I had bloody show pretty much right before my waters broke and I went into labor.

    Thanks for the answer.  I had my bloody show yesterday, or at least what I thought was my bloody show (large mucous glob that was red with blood). 

    I smelled this discharge and it smelled somewhat bleachy?  Not sure if that's an indication of anything, though.

    That's kind of what my water-breaking experience was like.  The water was a "slippery" consistency.  It only trickled at first, and then began leaking.  My contractions started right away.  I have friends though that didn't have contractions with their water breaking until hours later.

    When my water broke I felt a pop and then had a gush. After every time I would sit down and then stand back up, I'd have another small gush of fluid.

    Bleach smell is supposed to be amniotic fluid. I don't recall mine smelling, but I didn't really try to smell it either.

    This exactly... It never stopped either.  When I got to the hospital my pants were soaked through even with a large pad.  The would periodically change what I was laying on in the hospital too because I was soaking it.

    my water was like water. busted and gushed all over my pants. ick

    Same. I felt a pop and water gushed out for hours. But it was definitely more watery then textured or pink.
