Would It Be Cheaper??

We are having DD's b-day at the park. We are expecting about 50 people, including 20 kids.

We were going to buy some pre-made sandwhich platters, but it looks like that is going to be super pricey. Would it be cheaper to make the sandwhiches ourselves? They are charging $35-40 for a platter that serves 12-15, so we would need atleast 4 platters.

I'm thinking once we get into it, with everything laid out, its not going to take a huge amount of time to make the sandwiches.

  • Um yes, but maybe you should set it up so they can make their own sandwiches...

I'm leary of eating anyone that is not in my family's food...(probably a good idea for kids with allergies too...) you could do the yogurt tubes for kids or something too...

  • We did sandwiches for DD's baptism party. I bought ham, turkey, and roast beef along with a selection of cheeses and made a meat tray and a cheese tray. I also bought a selection of rolls and had the various condiments for people to make their own sandwiches. We planned for 50ish people and spent maybe $60 for all the stuff for the sandwiches (and I had a lot left over). I bought all the meat, rolls, and cheese at Sams Club.
