Intro and some questions

Hi ladies! I didnt even know there was a 2U2 board! That makes me super happy! I have an 8 month old and I am expecting again in Jan. (a big surprise...I was on BC).

So here are my questions for you mommies....

I am excited about having another dont get me wrong but it happened so soon! With DS I was so excited the enitre pregnancy but for this one I am just not feeling it too much. I feel so guilty about feeling that way...is this normal? I dont know anyone who has kids so close so I dont really have anyone to talk to. Im also scared that becuse I am not as excited there wont be that instant love I had with DS. Everyone I talk to says the minute they are born your heart grows and you fall head over heels for them just like your first. I am trying to do things to get myself excited like a journal (which I did with my first) but  find myself writing about DS most of the time! Any other ideas to get me putta this funk?

    Welcome! My first was born in December/my 2nd in January. :)

    I never got excited during my 2nd pregnancy. i was happy when she was born and had that instant love, but it wasnt the same feeling as that first pregnancy. During your first pregnancy, you have no other distractions so you have the time to focus on that pregnancy. When you have another child to tend to, it changes things. Don't feel bad about it. I would say the majority of people feel the way you do.

    I couldn't agree with this more, especially the bolded part. With my second I got excited for ultrasounds, but overall I wasn't nearly as excited.

    I'm not nearly as excited this time around but that's because I don't really have time to think about it or daydream. I didn't get really excited until we found out the sex at 20 weeks. Now we are beginning to do his room and buy his clothes and it's making it more real. I'm honestly more excited to not be pregnant at this point, so he has to come out for that to happen... Embarrassed
    SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!

    We are in the exact same boat! DD is 6.5 months old and I just found out I'm pregnant again. I don't even know when I'm due yet because we EBF so I never got AF before finding out I was pregnant. I'm glad to hear that other people aren't/didn't feel excited about their second pregnancy and that hopefully when this baby comes I will bond with it and ove it like I did DD.
